It was an eventful day at the dyno with the project WaSaabi producing at the wheel 445 max HP and 443 lb/ft torque which is over 500 at the crank on a stock bottom end. We were doing runs in 3rd gear but the tires kept spinning on the dyno under full boost. So, we had to switch to 4th gear runs to get the results you see. MapTun produced in the end the power potential of the engine. I highly recommend them. I will post a video of the dyno run in the next couple days so that you can also get a feel for the power. Its amazing!!! I also have some video of a Civic race car on the dyno producing 208 hp max, but the car was probably very light = quick. On the way there a guy in a WRX thought he was going to show the Saab what real performance was, but he didn't know what he was up against. He got the jump on me, but I tapped into the NOS and power and soon he was nothing but a VERY small image in my rear video camera. Soooooo long.

Were there some people doubting what sort of power WaSaabi was going to make...something about the article you had a while back and the estimated hp number for your car ;-)

It's great to see that sort of power coming out of the little beast! It's simply amazing. I bet it's a chore/blast to drive when you really get into it in the lower gears!

Looks good, just sucks about all that lag. Having peak power in just 1500 rpms would be something I'd have to get used to. But you can also figure that up to 4000 rpms you have power similar to my peak numbers, which works great for the street! Glad to see it running and getting some miles!

Holy shit. Spinning in third is a problem I would LOVE to have.

Way to go!!!!!
Get an automatic 9000 - it's not hard - problem is the trans won't hang on for a few more after really letting them loose. :)

Awesome Number Kevin - hope to see/hear the beast at SOC this year - perhaps I'll get to go for a spin in shot gun! :) Is the car street legal with tags now?

It's going to have some lag either way with a turbo that size, 3rd or 4th. The thing is, that it really looks like a pretty reasonable amount of power before the turbo spools up, so it should have good streetibility in the lower RPMs...but once you get over 3500 it looks like one hell of a ride to the redline!

The specs are located on my website - http://www.kyankton.net/

In regards to the NOS, many of you may recall that it is only used for the intercooler sprayer and I really don't think it has any impact once you get air flowing across the intercooler. I still like spraying a big cloud of NOS. Torque steer is not overpowering with the LSD, steering brace, and suspension braces, but you do need to pay attention when rocket launch time comes. It is a full on Matrix experience!

Good stuff Kevin. Glad you were able it get it correctly tuned. Maptun is one of the best companies for that.

Do you have any other plans or is the beast ready for lunch?
