I only looked a bit but I didn't see anything that struck me as "gotta have it", perhaps the model is discontinued but some other company is making a wheel that looks almost identical, somewhere in China ;)

Is it possible to fit Corvette wheels to a 900? One can buy for like 900 bucks on ebay a set of reproductions with the tires installed :D

I have looked into this.

Nobody will make 4x108 to 5 bolt adaptors except for those super huge air-cooled VW 5 bolt wheels.

There are 4x100 to 5 bolt Corvette patterns, but when I asked why the same company doesn't make 4x108 to the same 5 bolt pattern, I was told that extra 8mm in our bolt circle is too much interference.

So if you wan to go with the adaptor route you can do 4x108 to other 4 bolt sizes like 4x100, 4x98, and 4x114.3 if you like those wheels on Memoryfab.

I know why 4x108 to 5x110 is difficult, because there is only a 2mm PCD difference, so one of the lug holes overlaps slightly.

The odd thing is that there is a 8mm difference in PCD between 4x108 and 4x100...so I can see them claiming to be able to do 4x100 to 5x110, as the PCD is 10mm larger. So if we use that as a base line as 10mm difference being needed to go from 4 lug to 5 lug then I don't get why we couldn't at LEAST get 4x108 to 5x130, or even 5x120.

Oh well, just use a 4x100 adapter if you want to open up the selection a bit more. Plenty of wheels in that size.

You can always just use aftermarket/other type calipers and even discs... that said it's difficult to implement a parking brake

The advantage to the old front-emergency brake design, was that the brake actually works as an emergency brake... the rear-handbrake type and most other cars with similar things, is as useful as tits on a bull to stop the car... the problem of course is the stupid front brake design jams up or gets loose with time.

I don't know about that, I've driven using only the c900 rear handbrake after a brake failure, it's actually not that bad.

One nice advantage to the front handbrake is that you can us it like a "poor mans LSD" if you are having trouble in the snow.

Suppose you have a choice between these wheels:

Image

FWD offset (+40 IIRC?), 17x7.5"

Image

16x8 RWD 15mm offset, 64.1mm centrebore.

Image

Offset ~17mm, 16x7.5"

All 4x108 - which do you choose for a... oh, I don't know... let's just say a burgundy c900 vert.

I think I've made my choice, just want to know what you lot think.

Can ya guess which ones I like?

Oh yes, they are all minty-fresh NOS and the 'leftovers' will be listed for sale here once I get some prices from the current owner.
