Towing company cracked my windshield....

Today my aero was towed home so I could get started on putting the new motor in. It gets here and the windshield has a bullseye and a crack in it. I called up the tow place and told them that it was not cracked when it left my indy. The guy said I find it hard to believe that our truck cracked your windshield. I was told to call my insurance company and call back and talk to the owner tomorrow. Not only did they crack the windshield but they scuffed up the lip of the bumper.

Does anyone have any advice regarding my situation?

TIA

Drew

call your indy. get his word that it wasn't cracked. take pictures of it. then call your insurance company and tell them exactly what happened. give them the name of the tow company and the boss etc. then call them back and tell them to expect the callfrom the insurance comapny unless they want to fix it first.

The insurance company will get money from them as they have to pay tofix your windshield if they don't ..

Its probably going to be the indy's word vs the tow company's, and you will probably get the shaft.

In the end, its probably going to be you the gets the raw end of the deal. Its aggrivating. Towing companies seem to screw up so much shit, yet they ALWAYS deny it.

Drew if you haven't figured it out yet on any 3rd gen 9k regardless of trim the lower valence is always going to be getting scrapped on tows. I've seen mine have it happen multiple times on flat bed tows and there isn't any way to avoid it.

However the windshield thing isn't right. Hopefully you don't get the shaft on that.

It's probably best to just let it go, or have insurance deal with it. The time an money that it takes to get anything out of another company isnt going to make it worth while for a windshield.

I was very pissed when my mirror was broken, an I was missing paint from someone trying to break in. But unless you have a picture from the day it happened, I doubt there is much you can do.

I used to have an '87 Integra, and one time when it was towed, the driver lifted it wrong and bent both front fenders. They eventually paid when I went back to AAA and complained.

Ever since then, I have asked for a flat bed any time the car is towed. Saves the front lip and many other parts. These days there are enough flat beds out there that you can get one if you ask.

With 9k Aeros, always jack up the front of the car and wedge in door hanging alignment shims into the springs to raise up the front end, or get the towing dounts that go in springs. I learned that the hard way. If you have comprehensive it should take care of your windshield.

take care,
