This is the famous car that our dearly missed Topher titled Terrible F-.

Current owner has it listed on CL. He has too many cars and the wife wants one of them gone.

Just thought it would be fun to put it up here :)

Gone for 3 months, playing Tummy Sticks with ADouglas
Buy it back!

Nice shout out too:
Yes, I am talking to the owner right now. He offered it to me for what he paid for it, he doesn't care much about the money(makes a good living), cares more about it going to a BERETTA enthusiast(come on, that is funny, right?)

He says he has a 3 car garage and too many cars and although the Retta is worth so little it stays in the garage lol.

the add should have said "was originally owned by a Beretta owner who thought they had a Mercedes"

Sounds like a nice well maintained car. I bet it would be difficult at best for anyone looking for a Beretta to find a better one... anyone looking for a Beretta?.... no?

Nah, can't go back. These cars are only fun when they are FREE-$500 bucks. I would spend too much time, money, and effort if I had it back. I have the whole FWD thing covered.

IF I did buy it back I would turbo the shit out of it like I had planned and take out everything in it and get it down to 2300lbs.

HAHAHA.

I bet the book value is in the double digits right now.

There are only a couple of Beretta's that have even the slightest chance of appreciating, my car is NOT one of them.

Besides, I don't have the room to store it in the box at the house I am renting.*

What kind of power figures should one estimate for that beast? Actually an old friend of mine had one, and it was surprisingly punchy.

I had bought the original McLaren 3.1-T setup for the car right before I sold it. NA running mid 15's it had less than 155hp at the crank but tq was about 210 according to the dyno's I have seen. Stock 3.1's showed 180+lbs of tq at the wheels. My car weighted in at 2580lbs at the track, so keep that in mind....you don't need much power when the car is light

The turbo setup had a small T-25, I was going to run it at 8psi which should have been pretty quick.

Keep in mind that your average 900SE ran mid 15's in the mid 90's.

The popular thing to do is put in the 3400sfi from a Grand Am for about $400 parts and (your)labor and run low 14's or boost the 3400 and run 12's.

Also, my last 3.1 5spd beater would average 26.5mpg.

But enough about that :)

Typically they are installed far outside of the engine bay, often times out the back of the car where the muffler would be.

It is great when many cars that are NA do not have the room under the hood for such an addition and it makes for a sneaky sleeper.

In the Retta I just removed the battery and put it in the trunk to make the room in place of doing a remote turbo.

My friend Joe selling the Retta was offered a $4500 car as a straight up trade last night. Before he could give a hell yes, the guy took a deposit from someone else. But if it falls through the deal is good. Not bad.

The trade is for the only other older GM 80's car that Joe ever wanted. It was an 88' Fiero GT fastback 5spd in mint shape with lots of extras including a Caddy V8 to go with the car.

I too have a soft spot for the last year Fiero's. I am hoping the deal goes through.

I had a Fiero for about 6 months, around 2000. I liked the ergonomics of the car, I would say it was better than the C-900 for seating position. That was the ONLY thing better though. I was very under impressed in most respects by everything on the car. The worst part about it was the horrific handling. You might think a low mid-engined sporty car would handle well, No. As soon as you tried turning in any sort of a fast manner on anything but a glass smooth surface the ass end wanted to steer the car. as you hit small bumps you actually had to adjust the steering for what ever amount the car decided it was going to crab out on you. Nice!

Well, that's what you get using chevette front end parts in the rear of a car, Via teeing the tie rod ends to the frame of the car. Just a kooky design.
