Tail of the Dragon @ Deal's Gap...Drive JULY 21or22

Beau (CodeSplice) was talking to me and he suggested we should have a meet up at Deal's Gap and then drive the Tail of the Dragon. If you don't know what that is, wake up, and check the link. If you're too lazy to check the link...

We want to gauge interest just to see how it'd go. I'm going, splice is going, and he's also bringing along a bunch of his friends with their respective cars. For all you peeps that want to do it, mark your calendars for July 22 (2007) bring your family and their cars, and tell all your friends with cars (it's not a Saab only thing, but of course they're the best ;)). Don't know exactly which of those days will be the actual date but weather will play a factor. I've driven that road in the rain, and let me tell you, never again! ;)
People going in the same directions can probably meet up on the way there and we can meet at Deal's Gap or something. Splice and I are open to suggestions so let us know.

It's going to be crazy fun! Maybe we can all go out to eat after or something :) or a beer (tea for me), or whatevs.

I really liked this on their webiste.

WARNING .... AGAIN: Local enforcement on the North Carolina side has resulted in many recent tickets, primarily on the 4-lane section of 28 and 19/74. NCHP is very active in this area. Also be aware that local judges are not allowing any plea bargains for speeds in excess of 90 mph. Be ready to lose your license.

Sweet! Put yourself on the list and put maybe next to it ;) or something

Oh, and I don't know about gifts lol, I'll barely have the gas money to get there LOL

Man that is one great looking road! I've had bad luck with TN cops, though  If it were close, I'd be there!
Far away? I'm driving to Colorado and back in a few weeks :)

I am still interested. I have actually had a map of Tail of the Dragon/Cherohala Skyway Loop on my work desk since about April. If I do this, I will likely drive down on a Friday afternoon and camp, hopefully in/around the Smokies. Then I could meet up with you guys.

perhaps.......

my buddy bill rode that on his ducati last year and said it was insane. there's photographers hidden all over the place that take your picture and put it on their website. they show up on the website a few weeks later and you can buy a poster of yourself flying through the mountains if you want.....way cool.

i'll let you guys know, but this would be fun.
