What happens if you have a blow off on a t7?

What's the damage to the motor? and what is the worst that could happen, my friend with a Volvo is putting one on his car and he has a MAF and all that happens is he gets a check engine so I'm just wondering what will happen, same thing with boost controller

Try it.... come back with results. Or you can use the search or pay attention to the millions of threads on here about this.

I run a BOV on my viggen and works great and to be honest to run a BOV was my main reason why I removed the T7 totally

A bov does not have a return pipe to turbo intake side...

 

I read his modifications and later saw pics of his engine bay. Why is he calling it a forge blow off valve?

Seen a BOV on a T8, 2004 9-3. I have yet to run into that guy again around town and talk. I have seen him driving around... so engine must still be ok.

 

I tested these when they first came out. Need to sell the couple I have here. Not much point to it, did not work so well on the high output engines. Also piston action is not the same as a standard valve.

 

when you say it didnt work well under high output motors was this only tested with it splitting or did you also test it as 100% recirc? Curious minds want to know

Though I had video of it but only a -004 valve on the 9-5. Works with low boost.

When you say it "works with low boost" what does that mean. Does it work well with staged vehicles? I currently own a stage 4 Bugatti Megahertz would it work on that car?

Rule of thumb, if it vents anywhere but back into the intake chances are about 99% that it was throw a CEL.

 

Rule of thumb. Only a diverter valve should be used with T7.

Someone should make a video of an installation of a BOV with T7 and the aftermath and have it as the opening page for TSL.

 

Even more so, someone with proper logging equipment should do this so thet you would actually see what it does to the engine and not just rely on "it works just fine for me". The problem is that I don't believe anyone who has such datalogging equipment, and thus probably some real understanding of how engines work, would be stupid enough to risk his engine for the "collective good"

 

but it works like a diverter valve, doesn't it? isn't t7 similar to the system that 350z has? my friend said that he can't have a real bov in his z, but what he has is something like a diverter/dump valve.

 

It has the same general purpose of a diverter valve but it goes about it in a different way. A BOV vents the leftover air into the atmosphere, a diverter valve recirculates the air back into the system.
I don't think you can really compare a 350z to a Saab. Totally different kind of managements. One comes boosted from the factory, the other doesn't.
