For one of my birthdays I got the Swiss Army knife "CyberTool 34". And to be completely honest, I have never not taken it with me when I go, almost anywhere. I love my knife. I find uses for it ever day, no matter what. But over time it got dirty, grunged up, the blades got dull, parts wearing down.
I then decided to take it to a knife shop and see if they could do whatever servicing needed to be done. The guy at the store told me that I could just send it back to Swiss Army HQ in Connecticut, and they would do it all for FREE.
Sure enough, it was true. I looked it up on their site and mailed my knife away.
I did get worried after two weeks went by and nothing. But after a call during the third week out I got a response, and was told I would have to by the end of "this week". I called Tuesday, and got it back Thursday(yesterday).
I was very impressed to say the least. What I have assumed they did was took the entire knife apart and cleaned it in some kinda of "orange smelling" solution. All the blades where sharpened, they gave me a new set of screwdriver bits, and replaced both ruby red plastic covers. ALL FOR FREE
When I got it back I wasn't sure that I got mine back because it looked brand new, but I saw some of the battle scares in some places that I remember.
If you have a swiss army knife, I would highly recommend getting your knife serviced by theses people.
