loosen up the bolts up a little and go for a drive around the block and slam on the brakes to loosen them up.

pry bar. big one, that's what we do here. place something between bar and wheel to avoid damage. The open 3 spoke semi Klingon on the 9-3 at the worst about it for some reason.

yeah thats exactly why i dont wanna do it...i sprayed some liquid wrench on it...ill report back tomorrow.

 

If they are stuck, it will take a bit of work.


I have done this on 3 cars with no ill effects.

They make a "bang", then you back up the 10 feet you just drove into the garage.

 

yeah with no hub puller it was common to take the castle nut off the hub on the sonett then do figure 8's in the parking lot to loosen them up. finger tight with a socket, no wrench, should be threaded all the way in, but not torqued down at all.

 

1 - get a BFH
2 - install 1 or 2 wheel bolts loose - about 4-5 threads
3 - swing it from behind like a man
4 - spin tire and repeat as needed
5 - remove bolts and wheel and have a beer


Here at the dealership I use an intermediate shaft as my BFH

 

well 3 hours later i got them all swapped...ill post up a thread in a minute

 

Did you wire brush the hubs and hub bores on the wheels? Did you apply anti-sieze? If not take them back off...

 

the old ones were sanded and anti seized!

 

how do they get stuck? rust or something? I never heard of that before...

 

Usually takes a while, and a lot of people on here have their wheels off for various reasons so it may not have time to develop.

yea the rotors rust. the first time i took the rims off of my viggen i had the hardest time taking them off. After that i covered the area of the rotor where it comes in contact with the rim with anti seize and they just slide right off now.
