Word in the 2010 SOC parking lot was they're headed back east to New England, maybe Boston? Not sure that they know yet.

Had anyone heard Buffalo, NY was being considered? I heard it mentioned shortly after SOC 2010 ended. Have the WASSAAB folks given any thought to trying to help pull one together in their area? Maybe the Eastern Shore of Maryland? That could be a great area for an event like SOC.
If it's Northern Jersey...and is in the western part of the state...there are some venues that could be tapped.

All I ask is that wherever they hold it, please have the location be something more interesting/diverse/stiumlating than a suburban hotel parking lot.
Yes, it's nice to see the folks you might only see once a year. Yes, trucking around the parking lot and looking at cars is always interesting. But realize that sitting and standing aren't the only two things people enjoy.
As for Reading hosting SOC? Hardly. We have no prom food on premises as a rule.

Sounds like SOC is a purely Saab Club North America event....and not up to regional clubs to consider...

To Tweek's point, it's been made fairly clear (at least as I've heard it) that SCNA and its Board will host/run/sponsor (control) SOC going forward. My point was just to suggest that an organized club, like WASSAAB, might be able to lay a little ground work regarding where SOC takes place. And, the Eastern Shore could be a really great place to hold an event like this with the number of SAABers that typically attend. Perhaps WASSAAB's leadership might explore this?

I honestly don't care where it is - just as long as it's decided far enough in advance for me to plan the time off of work.
I vote Philly. We can have it by FDR. Just sweep up the glass. You get used to the pee smell pretty quick. Actually I'd like to go to an event in Canada some time. Seems like the perfect backdrop for Saabs.
A winter one would be the sickest. Imagine the photo ops at Mont Tremblant in the winter. Or the ice hotel. But I guess that would be crazy expensive.

I drove 12 hrs from central NB to SOC 2000 in my '83 900T with turbo going bad, the heat on to help with engine cooling and oil pressure issues on the way home...yeehaw!

I got an email forwarded to me from Ian Glenday saying that it will be somewhere in North Jersey the weekend of August 18 to the 21st.
If I remember correctly there's a Hilton, Embassy Suites and Sheraton in Parsippany. Plus a bunch of other smaller hotels for the day passers.
Guess I'll have to plan off then and book me a room. Perhaps I can talk a certain someone into bringing their 1986 c900 Vert.
