Well its all started, the engine got trial fitted. Thought Id share some pics with you, if your interested I can carry this on as a diary :)

The westy waiting to be operated on :)

the old engine was a £8500 750cc mistral suzuki engine, the previous owner removed it before I brought it, no way could I afford to repair such an expensive engine.

here is the bellhousing and gearbox mated up together

Here is the PWR charge cooler im going to use

here it is fitted to the engine. I had to swivel the housing round as it was pointing towards the oil filter

and here is todays pic, its getting trial fitted into the engine bay, its a big brute, just fits.

Contacted Maptun today to get some info on what they could do for me, they had loads of ideas, my main problem is keeping the tourque down as this car should only weigh 600 kgs. Hopefully have it done this summer, Im hoping to come to a few lancs meets as Im from Bolton.

Hope you all enjoy :)

The T5 is a different bolt pattern but you can get vx to T5 bellhousing I was going to go that way but for me the gearratios we all wrong.

the clutch is a ford 2.3 galaxy, the clutch will have loads of feel unlike an AP clutch which is on/off

the spline from the type 9 is the 23 splined shaft, the type 9 comes in 2 shaft lengths, if anyone is interested in doing something like this, you need the short one.

Hopefully get some more info on chopping the sump from the guys over in sweden :)
