Got the rads fitted today, should be back home later this week

 

Thats going to be amazing! Something definitely needs to be done about the oil pan though.

 

first thing is to chop it but we have also found that the nitron suspension springs are not upto the load so these will need replacing which will give us a few inches back.

 

Thats cool as hell! What can you tell me about that trans and bell housing?

Somebody said the V6 rwd camaro's and trans am's used something that might work.

 

as much as you like tweak the bellhousing can be brought from yukspeed/SBD/westfirld or caterham etc etc. its the vauxhall to ford type 9 gearbox. The gearbox is the BGH E7 rated at 280 BHP. If I can help further then just ask

No its a ford type 9 from a ford sierra.

Yukspeed shows a 16v vauxhall rwd conversion parts list. Is that similar to a Saab/Triumph 4 cyl?

from what i understand its the same basic bolt pattern, the opel omega trannys will apparently bolt right up also, unfortunately we never got those cars here in the US.

Does a borg/warner T5 bolt up to the other end with ease?

 

That is awesome! Any thoughts in converting to a dry-sump oiling system to get your ground clearance?

 

Did you have to modify the input shaft spline? Or is 1" x 23 ok?

 

The T5 is a different bolt pattern but you can get vx to T5 bellhousing I was going to go that way but for me the gearratios we all wrong.

the clutch is a ford 2.3 galaxy, the clutch will have loads of feel unlike an AP clutch which is on/off

the spline from the type 9 is the 23 splined shaft, the type 9 comes in 2 shaft lengths, if anyone is interested in doing something like this, you need the short one.

Hopefully get some more info on chopping the sump from the guys over in sweden
