Just so every one knows, this guy put this whaletail up on boston CL awhile back. And I just saw it again today.

As much as I'd want one, I like most other people wouldn't pay more then 100 bucks for one.

Ugh, a 10 day auction? That's way too long for most. I'd recommend putting up in a buy-it-now/best offer style format. If the whaletail is in good shape, you'll get more than fair value for it with this method.

I mean, a perfect whaletail is honestly probably worth about $500 or so dollars so I don't think my offer was "a bit much." They are rare to find in any condition and even harder to find in mint condition.

 

Best part is he made an effing press release.

 

It will be put up for sale on eBay tomorrow, October 14, 2010 at 6:30 PM EST. We are expecting a lot of hype about this very rare Saab part. It's one of the hardest parts to come by as it was discontinued 12 years ago.

We are anticipating an exciting auction with a lot of bidders.

I would never pay more then $500 current US dollars for a mint one - but then again, I paid $425 for a decent one like 6 years ago - so $500 seems fair. They are NOT worth what they were 10 years ago... everyone know's how much they suck! lol

I sold mine to Canada for about $360 shipped. (Damn steal )
