I have just purchased a new set of speakers for the 9000.Wonderful set of Clarion. What is the best and quickest way to remove the rear speaker covers to gain access to replace them ?.

Subwoofer is in(has been for a while, but will sound so much better runnng through an amp) and the amplifier is also ready to put in with the new speakers and beef the sound up hardcore !

Advice would be greatly apprecaited.

On the small tweaters I can see screw heads from the top looking down ! I had my headlining replaced and it was removed to do that ! The screw heads are from the top as I look down wards but I will try again. Thanks.

Yes, the woofer and tweeter screw/bolt in from the top, but the plate which they are attached to comes out from the bottom. :) Just remove the three inboard nuts, and only loosen the three outboard nutss, on each plate. I don't know if you have the new or old body style, since you're in Australia. But on both my older body style 9000s, the grill is also removable. It's a very tight fit, so you have to use some muscle (and a screwdriver) to get them out, but they do come out. However, there's really no reason to do so unless you are repainting them. It's far easier to remove the whole plate if you are changing speakers.

Done !

Yes your right ! Six 10mm bolts, my advise is to the do the bolt neares to the panel in the furthest corner first ! Using an extended ring spanner ! A lot of hassle but soooooooooooo worth it with improved sound ! What a lot of mucking around to get the speakers out. Pry the carpet out, take off the boot scuff protector, undo the anchor points then take off the base to expose the speakers ! Cleaned the plate up as well !. Still Cant beat that Clarion sound though !!! Puts the doosh doosh into the old girl again !!!

 Many thanks
