Are you polishing the stock DP or aluminum intake pipe?

 

The stock delievery pipe that goes from the intercooler to the throttlebody

 

Are you wetsanding or just using polish compound? What is your method?

I would advise wetsanding with progressively finer sheets of paper and then finish with a high speed buffing wheel w/polishing compound.

 

ive just been using a rag and mothers polish and doing it all my hand.

guess i should sand it down perfectly smooth and then start polishing...againn

ive been polishing my DIC for days. literally. and this thing is crazy shiny but everytime i use a rag and some polish it turns black which is what its suppossed to do so you know its working. should i just keep going until the polish no longer turns black?

Looks good! Your going to need to do as Andrew suggested if you want to get it any better.

 

Wet dry sand paper is your friend. Work your way up to 2000 grit then use some polish on it.

 

knock on wood the DI last for a while, aluminum will almost always be "dirty" (producing black shit on rag) no matter how many times you seem to polish it.

haha yeah i dont care theyve been there for years n im too lazy to do anything so there they will stay.

 

If you want the best results for your time you should be doing this with a flannel polishing wheel...pretty tedious and inefficient to do it by hand.

 

i dont got one. lol. im gonna sand it and do it by hand somemore and hopefully itll be good enough doesnt have to be like perfeccct

 

You can get little polishing wheels that can be used in a drill...fairly cheap option that could save you some time.

 

Right, that's exactly what I am talking about. A kit with 3 of them might cost you $15.
