Pick me out a car, Hameson-stylie.

So yeah. I'm pretty much sick of FWD. There's a reason they don't sell 400hp FWD cars. Now that I own one, I can see why.

I'm thinking I'd sell my SPG and my Viggen and pick up a sports-oriented DD. I carpool to work so I don't care about gas mileage.

Here's the requirements:

-Must be a coupe, compact or midsize. No 4DRFTL for me.

-Must be fast. I would need probably 300bhp at least. Quick enough to where I don't want to mod the engine. The most I'd do would be a drop + tint + wheels + exhaust.

-Must be unique. I don't want to see myself on the road.

-Must be RWD or AWD.

-Must be a manual transmission. Duh.

-Less than 10 years old.

-Probably under $50k, but not a hard ceiling. I'd break the bank for the right car.

-Must be white. I don't know, I like white cars.

-Did I mention unique?

Here's a few cars I've been playing around with in my head (which meet some, not all of my requirements.)

GTO

Maserati Coupe

Audi S5

BMW 135i (some hate it, I love it).

Porsche Cayman (?)

I read what you wrote and before I scrolled down I thought GTO...

An even better option would be a C6 Z06.
Yes, that....

I know they are common sometimes, but even a Z51 base Vette is amazing. I like them best in the copper color. The only thing that must be done is custom seats. You can even get a new leftover Z06 for a GOOD price.

You can get into 08' and 09' Vettes for about $35k that are NEW. Lots of car for the money.

I did the same thing as Mike, I read your requirements and thought 06 GTO before even seeing your first picture lol. But if you wanted to stretch your wallet a bit, id avoid the Maserati because of maintenance costs (yes less will break, but when they break...oh boy...). I hear S5's aren't too great at handling, and the 1 series is just not my flavor, too tiny. If youre looking at Porsche's get a used 911 Carrera...Ive seen them really cheap too. Better then a Cayman, esp in Carrera4 flavor. NSX's are underpowered unless you boost it, you'll definitely be unique in that one. Then of course is a white c6 z06...that would be my first pick and you can prob find one for under 50 with just a few thousand miles on it. Whatever you pick, let us know!

Side Note: GTO's did NOT come in white in either LS1 or LS2 flavor...thats a custom job which Ive seen around on the LS2GTO boards.

I really love the 135, or any BMW for that matter. The 135 with the M/Sports Package is my hopefully near future DD dream car. They are just too near and dear to my heart.

Corvettes do offer alot of car for the money but, like people say aboout BMW drivers, I dont want to fall into the category of "Corvette guy". Just me opinion, could be wrong.

Stretch the budget ALOT and pick up a CLK/SL Black. After seeing the TG tests, god they look exciting. Just a thought haha.

The Benzs' are auto only...FAIL. If that was not the case, C63AMG.

I love so much about the 135, but I can't get past its proportions, it's like looking at a dwarf-still a person, but you have to squint because the proportions are just off. :p

I would suggest also, if you can wait, since you are anti sedan, the CTS-C coupe is going to be amazing.

i rode in an s5 last weekend, and tbh was not too impressed. the ride was not very good at all (not much more comfortable than my 900 with shitty intrax springs...). and it also felt slow. wasnt any faster in a straight line than my 900 is.

it did handle well though

Yeah the Maserati is a super bargain for what you get. It's true that maintenance costs would be astronomical, especially with the labor of a shop that knows its Ferrari V8 powerplant.

However, as you gentlemen well know, I do all my own stunts ;-)

I like the NSX but it's down on power... But it seems like a more reliable option too.

The NSX can be down on power, look at the weight. It has 290hp, other cars have more, but they also have 100-200-sometimes 800lbs more. The S5 you mention, 340hp, probably has 800lbs on it. You can add power to the NSX easier than you can subtract large amounts of weight from others.

When was the last time you even saw one?

When my brother got bored with the Z in about 2000, we test drove a lot of cars. The NSX was the ONLY car that got his checkbook out.

It's funny how many of these cars I see almost daily. None of them seem very rare, I guess.

135's only look good blacked out. Hide's the dwarfishness and makes them look just plain evil.

Of anything listed here I would have to go for the Exige or the NSX, and neither are very practical DD's. I love the front end of the DB7, but the rear just looks cheap to me. Same goes for the Maserati Coupe.
