bingo!did anyone read the description? The price is high to attract interest, and then hopefully get you to sign up with a company called proxibid to bid on the car at soc.
I missed that part, but I can say that placing an ad for $30k would detract me rather than interest me in participating in that auctiondid anyone read the description? There's some debate on how the trannies shake out, but that is along the lines of what I've heard. Although, I know the one in Connecticut is also manual. The other one I've met, I didn't check to see what transmission it had.If you think about it deeply, within the total amount of Saabs produced during it's time period, there are probably no more than half of 1 percent remaining that are in as good of condition as this car. So maybe this guy gets half his asking price, but asking 30k helps us all in a way. It helps update where certain classic Saabs should be represented in terms of rarity and price in the minds of classic car buyers.
On a side note, I see it has a manual transmission. Weren't the vast majority of the 86 convertibles automatics?
This.I hate how the majority of the c900's for sale are convertibles. I have been searching for one and there are so many cheap turbo/SPG verts but very few nice 3 doors (sedans are even rarer).
Pretty small market for Saabs, new and old. Especially small in AZ, with no one looking for cheap FWD winter cars, etc. So you only have people looking for an ultra cheap, low maintenance car, and a 30 yo Swede is scary to most.I was selling my 1982 900 with all work done, all things fixed, with 2.0L engine from 1990 900s and engine management. New AC compressor and hoses filled with real R-12. Plus many other good things on it.
I listed it at $1200 on craiglist and no one called and ad expired. I posted it then for $800 and after few weeks one guy called. I just decided to keep it little longer.
I don't get it. Running car for $800 and still no one? I searched craiglist for other 'cheap' cars and most of the running ones are above 1K, anything under 1K are non runing junk cars
Classic 900 has no value what so ever
Most of these were slushboxes. This one is one of the rare 5m's. Might be worth the $$$. I spent the bucks to convert when my slushbox went out a few years ago.I would've bought it for $800!
A couple in Maine:
4)1991 SAAB 900 SPG Convertible (also pretty cool, maybe not ALL that high.)
