For what it's worth, that car is an 89. 88 base cars were all 8 valves and "S" were NA 16 valve. It also has the coil mounted on the pass fender that was 89 only. And the pink emissions sticker on the pass fender says 89

I have a MY88 US-spec 900S 4dr with the coil mounted there. But the tag indicates built 03/88 so maybe it was a late-88 into 89 thing.

Thanks, Moonracer. I wasn't really looking that closely, and relaying what the guy told me.

Yeah, the guy doesn't know what to price it at. Name your (fair) price and I'll relay it to the owner.

ROFL...

The car is obviously well kept, but I'm curious about whether that's the original paint. If so, I'm guessing the car was garaged for most of its life, as the gray cars of that vintage tended to fade on the hood and roof....

This one looks like it just rolled off the boat!

although the sun is a little stronger in DC, the winters are much milder.
Every time I go down to visit the g/f , I notice how many cars are on the road there that died years ago up here. (think 80's jap stele, and V240 rear fender rot)

Awesome find, for sure, and would be a great car to put-around in on the weekends. I wish I had the space for another car!

I am glad this is not a manual - because I would have been down this weekend to buy it. lol If this was closer I'd still have a hard time not buying it - but I must avoid picking up any cars I don't "need" right now.

Bump for a sweet looking classic in great shape!

Okay, so far we've got $1000. Relayed to the owner.

So, just for the sake of trying to stick somewhere close to the typical classified rules here, did the owner reject the $1,000 offer? Is there any range or ballpark he's shooting for?

This sounds like it should find its way over to Saabnet if it hasn't already. Might be worth the $35 or whatever it is now for the owner to find the right next owner for the car

Just got an update from the owner. He's looking for $1600.
