I think I saw that 91 on CL but the one I saw didn't have a title. That's not this one is it?

Nope. I think the one everyone was seeing was a different car. The ad only had two pictures if the one with no title, and it was somewhere like Eagle. I had my phone set up to alert me when a Saab was posted on Craigslist.
The 91 I bought was posted around ten at night and at ten the next morning I was already on my way to go look at it.

Now all I need to do is order the heater core kit and valve cover gasket. I'm having a hard time finding the whole kit that I need, as well as a new blower motor.

There's a '92 turbo at the U pull & pay in Aurora if you're needing any missing parts... I haven't seen it so I can't say anything about its condition...

So I'm a little confused about something? I did some digging and some say you can't or shouldn't change the gearbox fluid on a 91' can anyone give me some insight? Maybe a little how to. The 91' is getting some work done next weekend. The gearbox fluid is something I want to do ASAP.

Does anyone know if the newer aero seats front and back will fit in my car

People say that if it's never been done on a high mileage car, don't fool with it. But I'm pretty sure that pertains to automatics with filters and valve bodies. I see no reason why you shouldn't do it. Just do a quick search and verify the correct fluid you should use.

The Aero interior will swap no issue.

DO IT!!! Anyone that tells you old tranny oil with an unknown amount of swarth in it is better than changing your oil is someone you need to NOT listen too. Okay, that's my not so humble opinion... I've earned it :respect:

Anyway, the 'fear' of disturbing your trannies oil is the idea that after draining and refilling your oil, this action might disturb pockets of crud that have been 'resting' undisturbed in the nooks and crannies of your transmission. Now that they are 'disturbed' they may find their way into your bearings and wreak havic... Is this starting to sound like a fairy tale...? :th_SmlyROFL:
When (not if!) you drain the old fluid if you find a bunch of little metalic chips then you know your xmsn is already dead and you need to plan on rebuilding or replacing it. If all you find is a small pile of "fairy dust" (non ferrous metal) this is just the 'brass' from the syncho rings and is mostly normal. Rejoice, and pat yourself on the back knowing your xmsn's bearings are going to have clean oil to bathe in. Still worried about 'disturbed' crud--change your oil again after 50miles. It's easy now that you have a drain plug and oils cheap compared to tranny work!

:violent-smiley-010: This is me communicating with anyone that says "don't change your tranny oil"

HTHs

After multiple tranny failures I finally installed a box with the drain hole because I didn't want to have to pull the trans ever again. I used to be religious about it and even changed the trans oil every other oil change...

Then 8 months later the slave cylinder took a crap and it has to come back out anyways...

Thanks everyone for the input on the gearbox fluid. I don't think I'm comfortable drilling a hole in the box myself.
This weekend my friends and I are changing the water pump, fuel filter, valve cover gasket and plugs. Then I need to order the parts for the heater core and blower motor.

One thing that really surprises me is the car does have tilt wheel.

I have two questions:
Can any place like Ace hardware, Home Depot, etc cut the key blank I bought?
Was this car supposed to have a remote to lock and unlock the doors?

I think Walmart can actually cut the key blank for you now.

It has a tilt wheel? I've never seen a 9k with a tilt wheel... Weird..

I was assuming the OP meant "telescoping" column. Slides in/out about 3" of travel.
Not sure what year that started--early '90's...?

Tilt would be awesome--IF it really has tilt I wanna see pix and try and figure what model car it came off of! I'd do that mod. It would be great to see my gauges clearly...

Just use a hand pump, you will get at least 50% of the oil out, refill same amount, then do it again in a month to get close to 100%...
