Correct. I had to use an auto broker and pay him a fee as well. Than there is a Copart auction fee that's based on the amount. I think the thing with all the fees will roughly be $700.

This car was on there for months and would be reposted because no one bid on it.
Holy shart! So the fees are more than your bid?! Not as screamin' good a deal now at twice the money. Don't get me wrong--the body looks very clean and I hope it is--it should buff out really well.

You'll have to take some pictures of it in the snow if we still have any when you bring it back! I took this one of my Aero today, we don't have a whole lot here but we have a little bit.

Ya:icon_frown:

I had to pay the broker fee of $250. Which I knew. Copart, as I just found out nickles and dimes you. They charge a $30 fee to move the car to the front of the gate with a fork lift, which is absolutely not going to happen on my watch. I'll pay the fee, but i'll push the damn car if I need too.

The total was actual $756 so far. :gfy:

^^ They've already picked it up with the forklift about 100 times, 1 more won't hurt, get the $30 worth and save your back. I stopped buying from them cuz they lost so many titles (and yeah, they still keep your $ even if they lose the title)

Any chance you'll be letting your extra headrests go? I have Paypal if you're interested in selling.

WHOA that thing is beat up! How do cars get like that?

Good luck and props to you for rescuing it. Hope you bring it back to life!
Maybe Im crazy I don't really see this car as that beat up. I mean there are a lot of unknowns on the car thats forsure. The interior is trashed but that shouldn't cost to much right way I mean a new door panel and seat covers if you want then a really nice cleaning. The body looks really straight so thats a good thing. With a good polish I think you can get some shine back. The only thing that would concern me is the fact you didnt get to test drive it to see how bad it is. There is the chance that the motor has issues that would require a lot of work. And when you add in all the cost from the auction the great value seriously takes a hit. I bought my 9kCS for 800.00 and its ran like a champ for over a year now. I don't judge on price just for me I wouldn't pay almost 800 bucks without seeing the care in person. There are always cheap Saabs on CL.

And I want to make it clear Im not putting this purchase down I Like the car and I think you got a nice project if it runs and drive Like the said. I think the paint will buff out nice and the interior just needs a good cleaning and some parts but it will be worth it. I personally just have problems buying a car sight unseen but Im excited to see the build taking place.

So the Red Aero fell through. There was no way I was driving 4.5 hours one way and 4.5 back last weekend in the weather we where having. Than late Sunday came around and I had the flu.

I nabbed this on C.L today, in the cheap.

The interior is in decent shape, defiantly have to do the headliner on the sunroof, maybe one day I will find a dash in better shape.
Everything works with the exception of low beams, and one window. Oh wait, the heater core needs replacing and a blower motor.:th_gives:

It has new tires, it's a 5 speed, and it doesn't smoke. It's a bit of a project for sure, but I got a pretty damn good deal. Everyone on the east coast can pick up a cheap Saab anytime; it's next to impossible to find a Saab, let alone a cheap 9k in Colorado very often.

Nice score! I hadn't even seen that up on Craigslist and I've been browsing through it the past few days. I do love the classic 9000 Turbo's, I've had both a '91 and a '92 and my '92 was the same color, Platana Gray. I just did a water pump on my Aero yesterday and today I just finished stripping my grill about 2 minutes ago and I'm about to go plastidip it black. As for the low beam issue it's probably a relay, let me know if you need one as I have several.

So what did you do with the red one then?

The Red one is back up for auction.

I drove the 91' today to work, it feels sooooo good to be back in a Saab. Now I need to get rid of my VW.

I gotta agree with everyone else saying that the 91-92's are bad ass. Definitely the "cool kid" of the 9k line-up if there is such a thing:D

Anyway looks like a nice find, and a realistic project to make some improvements on, while serving as a daily driver. And please post some more pics!

how do you bid on an auction, win, schedule a pick up, and then back out? Did you have to pay some fee or something?

It was a $400 fee. Zip to show for it
That sucks for that I would've rather paid the extra 300 and picked up the car. Thats crazy you lost like half of what you paid.

Well, all said and done it would have been $756, plus I believe $50 a day storage fee. The cost of shipping and what not, I said screw it.
I got the 91 for substainally cheaper, got to drive it first and didn't have to pay shipping fees, or spend a day picking it up.

I had a 13 hour day yesterday, and a crap one at that. I got in the 9k, and my worries of the day melted away once I made my grand entry onto the highway...
