is this what you're looking for? I go back and forth over if I like them enough to put them on my car, I think it could be done pretty well but I wish they did them in a grey color not just black/white/yellow

 

Something like that, only on the hood, and in gray. I have a local sign place that does really good vinyl decals for cars (they do most of the signs for the local stock car circuit). So I can do a custom griffin with the outlines/colors the way I'd like.

Especially decals the justr say "SAAB" and stuff like that - It's like, yeah, its a SAAB....we get it :lol:

Edit: The griffin design really isn't too bad, and if you do it in a color that is similar to the color of your car, maybe do it in dark grey in your case, then it might look cool on the corner of the hood/fender, or maybe somewhere on the 1/4 panel. But big stickers accross the hatch look tackey 99% of the time IMHO

Correct, with in reason. Some stuff is ok, the shocker is always good, or if you are in a club as long as the logo isn't HUGE and gaudy.... So there are exceptions to the rule but in general I would leave that action to he race prepared cars and Big H's.

not to mention that if you leave it on there long enought your paint is going to look like crap when you take it off I bet...

I thought the "Saab" decal I originally had looked good. Hell most people thought it was stock.

I do like the clean look now though

 

If you can pull it off looking stock, then I say go for it. But if it's just a huge banner... bleh.

The little SAAB vinyl on blaque out's car looks pretty good. I just think REALLY BIG decals ruin the look of any car.

 

+1 I think that big griffin decal would look DECENT if it was smaller.

I personally like decals that are just a shade off from the color of the paint so you can barely even notice it.

 

I've got a SAAB 99 windshield banner i'm thinking of putting on the rally car. any objections? I think it would be sweet.

I was always a fan of grey stickers on the glass so it almost looks like its etched in the glass!

i have a decal like Blaque's, but a little bit bigger, and i really like it
because a lot of people dont know what it is (particularly in PGH)

I liked Cpenn's decal, mostly the super low contrast, but im not sure i would do the same

 

Remember, this is going on a C900 SPG (not an NG900). This car will also be a weekend warrior, autocross, cruiser.

I personally don't think a logo on the hood looks bad. Like the Firebird centered nicely on the hood of a Firebird Trans-Am, or the Eagles head on the Eagle Talon. Especially when done in dark gray on black.

I want the car to look nice, and let people know it means business. But based on most of your opinions here... I dunno.

I guess I'll have to spend a bit of time trying things out in photoshp first.

 

I would make sure you really want to do it before hand. I dont like big stickers either.

 

actually, the saab stripes could look really cool on an SPG, but make sure its really subtle, a close color to the paint

 

I'm all about the factory Saab decals

 

For a weekend cruiser or track car, Id say go for it. If I had to drive around every day with a giant decal on my car no thanks, but if its my weekend track car, why not.

Local ice races here make you slap giant bridgestone stickers all over your car if you want to compete. So if the color of your car and color of the decal are done right, I wouldnt bash the hell out of it.

Its your car, post up the photochop's when you get it figured out though.

think about it this way....the SPG was designed to be de-badged from the factory. You would be ruining part of the SPG effect and the SAAB gods would frown on you :-(
