I can't decide. But I also can't find Cross Spokes that I can have shipped to me for less than a million dollars, so that may decide things for me.

Cast your vote and let your voice be heard, America! (Bachmann can't win, this time.)

I don't have a good profile pic of my car yet (or a whale tail), so I am borrowing SPGreg's beauty shot of his car. Thanks!

Sorry for the terrible Photoshop...
Wheels adapters and double three spokes?

I know these are played out on "modern" Saabs, but how about on a c900?
IIRC you had these on your Laser Red Viggen?

That's interesting. I did have those on my Viggen. Good memory!

Hey, cool poll! :th_MySaab900Like:

The rims JA 37 posted are unique. What are they, 18s? 20s? Though somehow incompatible with a 20+ year old c900 (IMHO).

If I didn't have the supers on mine, I'd put on some aeros. Guess I'm a little traditional. Both choices are cool & classy in my opinion.

They are 17s... probably my favorite Saab wheel, but I don't think I want 17s on this car, simply because of the lowering springs. I'd like to be able to put stuff in the back and not rub.

yea, aero & s. aero's are the most common.... but of those listed I prefer the s. aero's (those are the two tone 16's correct)

Not a fan of the mesh wheels, I think they are nasty....... makes the car look older :( I love mesh wheels, but they need to be a open mesh.

There's a reason that super aeros are played out on c900s (if anything in a saab can actually be played out). They look awesome!

LOL.

That was the idea I had a while back. Unfortunately the width/offset combined with the minimum thickness available in a 4lug to 5lug adapter didn't seem like it would work out right. I took some measurements and gave up. Eventually sold the double three's with the Viggen.

I love the mesh look and would go with some ESM BBS RS knock-offs if I knew I could re-sell the wheels if I didn't like them. There simply isn't a huge used market for 16" 4x108 mesh. :)

Right now the two-tone Aeros are my realistic favorite, since the Saab/Ronal cross spoke is so hard to find.

Whatever the case, I need to make up my mind soon because both rear wheels on my car are bent to hell and it's super annoying.

Super aeros are the best in my opinion even tho lots of people do use them… although the 16" aeros are damn nice too. They still never came as standard on the C900 so it is a nice upgrade and really suit the car. Im just a stickler for the super aeros as that is what I have on the silver sled and just love the shape. good luck JK!

I'm with Steve on this one. Both top choices are precisely what's on my classics.

The trick, imho, is to get the sidewall profile right. The stock profile ususally used, to me anyway, is too tall. I go with a 45%.

Yeah since I already have the Supers on my vert, I want something different on this one. My first choice is the Ronal 16" Cross Spokes, but I can only find one set and it's not cost effective to ship from their location. My second choice are Aeros. I am not normally a huge fan of two-tone wheels... in fact, I usually hate them because every damn idiot in southern California has them on their shitbox Corolla.

BUT.

I think they look amazing on c900s with SPG kits. So, if this set pans out, I'll have the opposite set up as you Jim, like you said over in my thread on this car. Looks like you win the office pool. :)

Cheap Aeros fell through.

Re: hub centric rings

Any difference between polycarbonate and metal rings? Any reason I should choose metal over other options?

The ESMs I am looking at have a bore of 67.1 and I believe a '90 c900 is 65.1. Does anyone make a 2mm ring? Would it be better to have it bored out to 73.1 and then step down? There are a billion rings for sale in 73.1-65.1.

...Besides heat?

A little bit of anti-seize on both mating surfaces will keep them from corroding to each other, we also don't have the humidity of the Pac Northwest (or anywhere else), nothing corrodes here.

Go with the plastic rings. My m3 had the aluminum rings and they fused themselves to the hubs after a while. Icky.

And yes you should be able to find exactly the size rings you need. I went to discount tire, told them what I needed and they came back with a bag. Cheap too. Also eBay should have them.

I did the plastic ring on my viggen, they broke apart after a few months of street use which is why I wouldn't buy plastic

I had 3mm spacers made with rings on my viggen a little anti seize & they come off w/o any issues.......
