sweet 5 door.. thats one that i would sit in the back of while someone drove me around haha with some maroon velvet privacy shades

was it like hardly ever driven? Cause I have a 1991 c900 and mine has 265,000 miles on it, that only has 114,000 and it's a '79!!?? Nice shape too, I need to find an upgrade for mine, like an SPG I would love, or any turbo for that matter. I love the old styles like this, with the headlights that basically wrap around the whole front of the car!! Haha, great car man!! Keep us posted!!

Looks cool! Apparently the secret to keeping the old motors running is to drive them regularly.

I'd swap those wheels off though, unless you want to shop for metric tires.

Whoa, wicked cool!

Is that an external wastegate I see? They were common place on early-er turbo'ed saabs?

Yup, factory external wg. Audi 5000 also used a factory EWG, and others. The internal wastegate was a big improvement, saving space and reducing complexity for production turbo cars.

I have a brand new in factory mustard primer left rear fender for that 5door! It is wall art here at the shop. Let me know if you need it.
I may ask! BTW, hold on to those poly upper strut mounts I ordered, this is what I spent the Koni and spring money on. :p

I was the chase vehicle on a half-country retrieval run to grab one of those. It was hairy at times. That hot start issue is real and bad.

AAA is your friend.

I can have the dual vented hood? Oh thanks! :)

In all seriousness, that is an incredible score! I am extremely jealous! It'll be in good hands now... Congrats man, I'm happy for you. :)

And I'll put some granola in the oven for you. I have found bags of granola in several of my c900's that I have bought lol.

For the Vig? Deal, and very gross.

What I do need, is the propper steering wheel, and the pre 83 style headlight bezels or "hoods" without the lenses. I also emailed a guy locally that may still have some gold vane shelbys.

Wow, what a great find!

BTW, great thread title! Hope this wasn't asked already...what the hell do werthers have to do with it?;)
Joke that C900 drivers wear tweed, smoke pipes and eat werthers.

Over the week, I scored the correct headlight trim from Sports Car Service in DE. I also went Swedish Picking with Jeff Hoffman, he got a door for his Aero, and I picked up a set of redish pink floor mats. I am gonna head back to the guy and get a black rust free hood for the 85 and probably a whole exhaust system.

Geez it's a clone of my car!!! Great find! There was a '79 5 door in Charlestown WVA on saabcentral. Mine is staying original (guy rebuilt the engine before the tranny went boom, pinion bearing). I might be in the DC area next April with it.
