We are the second owner, and this car was bought (by us) from the original dealer. The first owner had ALL the service done at the dealer. We have had it for 3 years, and have kept up with it.

It get a waxing usually twice a month, and back to black on all the right pieces.

-New hatch stuts
-New power steering hose

My wife just got home, and so I snapped a few pics...

The car is usually much cleaner, but with the roads as they are, the photos came out a bit gross.

The interior is easy to see, and is very clean, other than the dirt on the driver's mat.

I typically wax the car once a month when it's not freezing out. I only use Meguiar's NXT wax, which is a synthetic wax that provides a deep shine.

I also use Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner on the interior, and it shows. The back seat looks like it's never been sat in.

I also have a liberal amount of back to black on the dash, so it's nice and shiney.

Have 1997 SE's really depreciated that much in 1 year?

I paid $5000 for my 97SE 4-door hatch, fully loaded, black on black, 136k miles, back in January of 06 (one year ago almost to the day). But it also came with a full set of 15" steelies with Blizzaks, and a Thule Roof Rack.

It's been an awesome car. Someone should definately jump on this! 1997 900 SE's are where it's at!

It's not that they have depreciated that much... it's that I have priced this to sell.

Get it?

I'll agree '97 900SEs are awesome... however I already have one. Great price though I have to say, as I paid $4k for mine with 105k miles and then the transmission decided that neutral was a good gear to tug the car forward intermittently. So for a functional and well maintained 900SE I'd say this is a good deal!
