I don't know how I feel about the silver over the radio though...looks out of place or something, compared to the rest of the dash.

 

So odd to see a 9³ with the wheel on the opposite side. So apparently the Aussie's take after the Brits...What a surprise.

 

It was a British penal colony... so no, not really a surprise

I also don't particularly care for the silver pieces... the rest of the dash looks awesome though!

 

The silver pieces look good when installed… to me if the SID, ACC and radio were covered with CF as well it would be too much. It is nice to have that contrast there and these pieces are made the same way as the CF parts with a raised gloss area and fit flush with the CF pieces.

Yeah, we drive sitting on the right side of the car here (left side of the road). To me seeing the dashes on the cars up there in the USA is weird! Even stranger (for me) is to drive a LHD car on the RH side of the road, shifting with my right hand! Drove a lot when I was over there in the USA... but it is still strange every time I do it!

do you have a tape deck and auto climate control? Otherwise the kit is missing if your car has stock cd, storage cubby instead of ashtray, or manual cc. I have cf dash kits in my cars as well.

 

Yep I have the tape deck (with the CD stacker in the boot... err trunk to you guys). Also have the ACC. Apparently the radio cover fit both the single CD in dash radio and the tape deck version as the cut out is the same.

Pretty chuffed with finding this and of course with the price!

As I said i will post pics once I put it on.

 

I was checking parts availability in Saab Iris the other night to find that Saab has 178 or so of those carbon fiber kits left for the 900s/9-3s at $10 a piece. It's only the dash panel overlay though and nothing else.

Saab IRIS, it's Saab USAs computer database which dealers have access to for Sales, Service, Warranty and parts information/ordering among other things.

 

where can i get a CF kit for cheap from for a LHD?

 

look for the CF adhesive kits that were sold as a saab accessory

 

x2, check your local dealer out, Saab has more than 170 kits available and should cost right around $10-15 depending on how nice their parts department are to you.

 

I have just spent this afternoon (on Boxing day) installing the carbon fibre dash kit in my 2002 9-3 Aero! Took me all of 30 to 45 minutes all up and was a piece of cake. I used rubbing alcohol to ensure that the surfaces were free from grime first, and then took off half the backing and secured it in sections from left to right.

Pretty happy with how it has turned out! Let me know if you want any closer shots.

wow dude. Im not big on CF - but that looks REALLY nice! Especially with the silver accents -for some reason, it really ups the standard black backing. Very cool. now let me drive your 900 aero??

 

That came out really good, wasn't sure about the silver accents on the SID/RADIO/ACC, but it looks really good.

no, that is different. You'll want to pick up a used dash face on ebay. They can be had for under 40 shipped. You can take off the oem wood but i'd just keep it to install laer or something
