The normal group of us arrive Friday afternoon/evening and set up "camp" in the camping area on the property. Then we begin drinking and don't stop until Sunday (sometime) before the Auto-X event for those who participate in that. Lots of drinking - food if you bring it or pay for the food passes from Central Penn (which are well worth getting!) And more drinking and cars and parts and such. And we drink! You should go - if you don't you suck.

Ah I C, i don't always do so well with figuring out web sarcasm, although if you want to go with that theory anyway, i'll back you up, i'll tell Carlisle to back it off on the adhesive strength this year, i'm sure they'll comply.

Ahhhh it was warm out today and sunny, so i pulled the Viggen and SPG out of the garage. Just started let idle for a couple fan runs and drove around the block. After 30 days, both fricking cars needed the batteries charged. - What is it about Saabs and batteries?-

But I will be fitting the newly acquired Whale-tail to be "unveiled" at the the show. I Have some big plans this year. Can't wait.

SAABs @ Carlisle 2011 almost ready to LAUNCH

Everyone probably already knows that when I get back on the forum, it's getting close to launch time for another SAABs @ Carlisle event, and this year is no different.

On-line registration will be ready very soon, and we will contact everyone on our distribution list through Constant Contact, and will post the link here and on the CPSC website.

For newbies who want to be added to the distribution list, PM me or e-mail me at: neuswede at gmail dot com.

We have alot of NEW stuff in the works, including SAAB's new 9-4X, and several display cars from SAAB's Heritage Collection. Thanks go out to Julie Gardner at Kelly SAAB in Lancaster, PA for helping with this.

Due to budget constraints, SAAB was able to send 6 cars, but we will also be doing a first-ever, "Chairman's Invitational" featuring historically significant SAAB's that will be displayed with the Heritage cars. We hope to have at least 12 more cars, making the total display 18 cars again this year. These will be displayed inside the Big-Top on our showfield, as we've done twice before.

We are reviewing the possibility of LIVE video streaming this year, using several on-site cameras and some ad-hoc uploads. I have a meeting later this afternoon in Carlisle to discuss this and many of our other infrastructure needs in 2011. Suffice it to say, we have been the Number 1 club at Carlisle for an unprecedented 9 straight years, and we aren't through yet. The best is yet to come.

We are setting our goals fairly HIGH this year....anybody up for hitting the 300+ SAAB car count? Yeah, I know...that's alot of SAABs, but what would complete and total global domination be if we didn't at least make our best effort.

That is all for now...more to follow shortly.

Marc
