topher put the 25mm on the rally car before i bought it. i havn't had any oversteer wasnt purposely induced. but, that car's springs are ridiculously soft, which could have something to do with it...

My car is pretty stiff, I have everything within reason beefed up with poly and all the bars you could add. The 25mm bar is the last item that is not taken as far as it can go and still be tolerable for a street car.

 

I had the 25mm rear bar with the 24 front bar with a koni shocks and eibach springs as well as poly bushes all around (including the rear axle). It was fine.

I found the Handling to be quite neutral. I never found the car to be prone to oversteering out of nowhere. I found I could really stay on the power through the turns and the car would track the way I wanted it to.

I had the tail step out a bit a few times while driving hard but nothing serious, just a bit of rotation.

Man I miss being able to drive that car.....

Hmm, thats what I wanted to hear.

I have found my tail step out very rarely and a very small amount. I also wonder about the effect of tires, like stiff sidewalls could exascerbate the car being prone to oversteer. My 615's have a pretty stiff sidewall.

I have put a lot into trying to make this car handle, have decent turn in and reduce body roll. It's better, but we all know it has a left to be desired. I am hoping the 25mm bar might give me a smidge less roll.

That is the only reason I was a bit ambivelant and made this thread.

 

Hmm, sounds like I will buy one maybe next week. That way I can install it before its too cold out and have it to look forward too once the car comes out again for Spring.

 

Also remember the front tires will heat up a lot quicker than the rears, especially auto-xing, etc. The rear tires will therefore break sooner when at the limit.

 

I also have the 25mm on my 96 900, stock front, stock springs, stock shocks. Easily overwhelmed snow tires and no tcs.

 

I have the 22mm bar on an otherwise stock car. Had a high speed autox race over the weekend and it left me wanting a less understeer and more over. But I am going to stick with what I have until I get some better tires and the Koni kit, then I might go to the 25mm bar.

i have a base 9-3 so what front arb do i have?
what does the SE come with?
what does the viggen come with?

 

SE is 24mm, I think Viggen is 22mm.

 

so the base is 19mm?

True, I don't think I ever saw body roll on the Flintstone's. Unless you count when the car flips over when they put the slab of ribs on the side of it.

 

i was talking about the front. i was looking for something better for my car but i did not know what i had to start with.
so the SE has a 24mm front and the viggen has a 22mm front and the base has a 19mm front... right?

LOL. Anything I can do to help. The bar is UNDER a $100, it's very easy to justify in terms of bang for the buck. And if I prefer it to the 22mm I can probably sell mine for $60 making the new bar $40.
