Alright so most of you know my car is dunzo:cry: but.... I'm gonna have an extra motor and basically an extra saab to play around with. So the plan is to swap my extra b205r into my buddy's vr6 mk3 golf sport. Sounds crazy but I believe it'll be a fun project and something nobody has seen before.

Here's said vw:

I dont expect everybody to be for it but let me know what you guys think....as of right now there's a 70% chance we're going for it

Getting a transmission to work is definately gonna be a headache. The main plan was to use a mk4 tranny, which is wayyy stronger than a saab tranny but getting it to mount up properly is gonna be something we're gonna have to figure out down the road. The car should be awesome with the motor and a stage 2 tune because power to weight ratio will be much higher than a saab and not to mention how much better vw's chassis and suspension designs are.

All I can think about is the car on 3 wheels as it does it's golf characteristic turn where it cocks that rear wheel up.

It could look like this one if done properly :) Granted, a VW and an Opel are nothing alike... but neither is a Storm.

I like this converison (as im doing it myself) buts this one nordic done abit ghetto(imo), They've cut the front end of that GM opel corsa off and welded on a saab GM900 front end and modded/extrended the corsa's bonnet and wings to fit. dunno if you'd get away with that in the real world..? dont matter for this car as its only a drag beasts by the looks of it..

looks good though :)

the reason we even thought bout this is because hes pulling the motor anyway to
do a bayshave and wire tuck. he was telling me that we could set up the ecu so that its running like a stand alone set up. the real problem is mating the trans to the motor.
it is doable just have to take our time.

indeed Mating the trans is doable but not easy, as an alternative in the UK we use F23's & F28 (which i run) gearboxes in our vauxhalls which are much much stronger than saab boxes and bolt straight up to the saab motor and use the standard saab clutch, You should find these gearboxes in the 2.2 supercharge cobalts...

& with this option the only thing that'll need to be custom are the mounts and drive shafts which are a peace of piss in comparision to mating the vw box to saab engine.

just my 2p
