I wouldn't do this. The wastegate will stay open and your turbo will spin and spin. I'd assume you can hurt the turbo if you over spin it so I wouldn't do it. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

Actually if you have no wastegate it won't build boost at all. It won't hurt your turbo, but you'll be very slow.
It wont build boost, true, but it will continue to spin faster and faster trying to build boost until it over spins itself which burns up the bearings inside the turbo.

Below is a thread from a supra forum giving a general idea of over spinning a turbo because of a bad bov.

Turbo Damage from Overspin or Compressor Surge

Good link,i tried and tried to mount the internal now im just saying F it amd buying a external
Oh and my water leak was a cracked waterpump im guessing it happenned when i was driving up on the toe truck -_-

My question is why did you weld the flapper shut on the holset? Dont you have a Hy? with no divider in the middle? the only reason I've put an external on my car is cause of the hx's divided manifold design. So with an hy you shouldn't need an external, but i could be totally wrong.

Well your reasons are different than mine!
The internal wastegate is hitting the balance shaft area of the block, and external gives better boost control anyway! Id rather do it right than worry about boost creep and other issues

Ahh good point good point. But anyways there really isn't another way to putting an external on a stock manifold then to weld one, whether its a 2 bolt or v band style flange is up to you but I've had good luck with that size and welding on the stock manifold.

I had a friend weld it with my mig welder with gas hook up, I use a Hobart 140, he's had more experience welding then I have so that's why he did it. As for the hole I used a hole saw drill thing
