I've owned this car for about 1-1/2 years; bought it from a friend who drove it for several years. I've (slowly) been going through it, fixing and restoring as needed... and adding the Aero body kit.
You know the story by now: I'd love to keep all of my 9000s, but simply don't have enough room.
The Good:
Well-maintained by previous owners
Completely gone-thru; any problems were corrected
Smooth, quiet, comfortable commuter
Super Aero wheels with new performance tires
Brew City Boost "Stage 1" ECU upgrade
The Bad:
Air conditioning blows cool, but not ice cold
The Ugly:
Scratches and rock chips on hood
Small dent on the drivers side "C-Pillar"
Small rust spot at bottom of left fender
Typical wear in drivers seat bottom (Sand Beige dye has worn out of the leather grain)
Restoration and Repair Work I've Done:
Replaced broken tail light, headlight, third brake light, fog light, grille, AIC valve, headlight relay, and driver's door panel with good used parts
Shampooed carpets with professional equipment; cleaned and conditioned leather seats
Sourced and installed Aero body kit (front bumper cover, rear bumper cover, side skirts, fender flares)
Replaced upper "dogbone" engine mount with a polyurethane version
Installed K&N cone air filter and TurboXS Blow Off Valve
Triple-changed transmission fluid; installed a new filter
Triple-changed power steering fluid
Fresh NGK spark plugs, oil, oil filter
New Parts Installed:
Heater core, heater hoses, and thermostat
Tensioner pulley, idler pulley, and serpentine belt
Front brake rotors and pads (Zimmermann, Axxis Metal Master)
Front struts (KYB Excel-G/GR-2) and strut bearings (SKF)
Both front axle/CV assemblies (note: these were refurbished, not brand new)
Both front wheel bearings
Both ball joints and tie rod ends
Power antenna mast
Four new tires (Hankook Ventus V12 205/55-16)
