hey guys, been over on saabcentral thought i would start posting some stuff here too. Bought a 87' spg back in summer of 09' for 300$ a parts 1990 spg in 11' for 1,000$ (now crushed!) since then i have slowly stocked up new parts, had scanwest rebuild the motor, tranny, head. i replaced almost everything: bushings(mix of poly and new rubber), hoses, gaskets, bearings, suspension, steering. I also painted it myself saabs lime metallic yellow. i have done most of the work myself just sending out the bigger stuff to get rebuilt. here are some pictures of what it looks like as of tonight. and old pictures below. I am somewhat on the home stretch of finishing this thing. enjoy!

i swapped the axle and hubs from the 1990 so i can fit 16" carlssons also got the whale tail intrax springs (from iron joe) on koni red adjustables

i have lots more photos if you want a picture of something or before/afters just let me know and i'll post em

minus the drive train rebuild stuff by scanwest I have done all the work myself. I just turned 22 in April and I work at a small body shop since I was 16 im a college student and ill graduate next fall in environmental biology. For power adders once everything gets broken in Ill do a 3.0 for, red tops, and mild tune i want this to be my dd so i can heavily modify my t-x

Fantastic work. There is another build on here (except its a 99) with some fancy paint work and I've said it before, but it's great to see the time and effort (well, and money too) going into classic saabs.

Great work - I'm looking forward to keeping up with your progress and quite curious as to what will be done with the interior.

the interior is the last thing on my mid right now, i really want to score some 9000 aero front seats, or just get some racing seats and get them covered to look somewhat original. I ordered front and rear slotted rotors today, front brake lines, front calipers and pads. just need to buy rear brake lines and calipers/pads and figure out how to connect the brake lines coming from the 87' body to the 90' axle. remaining parts list is a red top (i relocated the battery to the back) downpipe and muffler/exhaust, intercooler and piping (i have something drawn up to put a front mount w/o cutting tow hooks or anything on the core support. various vacuum lines and couplers and lots of assembly!

thanks! i bought a few items/tools today including the clutch ring spacer tool so i can get the pressure plate compressed and get the clutch installed. also bought the right socket and new seals for the timing chain tensioner so i can re-install that for my piece of mind. i wont work on the car until next weekend when i come home from school, hopefully my brake parts arrive and tools i ordered so i can get more done and give you guys some more pictures.
