Hey guys,

I'm back in the market for another Saab and grabbed an unlimited CarFax subscription for a month.

I figured I'd offer to run some VINs for the 'Link. Let me know.

shit... so it looks like mine was in some front end collision with the first owner. Hmm.. I've never seen any sign of damage, replacement, etc.. wonder what in the world it couldve been. I see that at the bottom it says, if the damage was estimated over $500, is when its reported, and shown on carfax. Is there any way to track down what happened?? I'd really like to know. Otherwise, everything is as I expected.

I am not sure it's the DMV, this is going back a few years. The situation did not make sense, you could tell by looking at it. The car changed hands a few times when it was very young and low mileage, there were opportunities for fuck ups in reporting.

Let's just say I'm definitely a believer in using CarFax as baseline for a car's history only. I know a guy who bought a car and later found out that it was involved in a significant accident but the carfax didn't show anything. Which usually means the previous owner took the car to Uncle Tom's body shop and kept it off the books. CarFax definitely isn't correct 100% of the time.

Nonetheless, a few VINs coming right up!

This is true. Just remember, Autofax does the same thing. IN fact, the one I just got looks to be much more thorough than 2005, looks like they give all the info a Carfax does and then some. They also offer the buyback protection as well.
