Just looking for a few opinions on where I can install my Uniden PC78 Elite in my Aero. I previously had it mouted on the side of the center dash on the passenger's side in my CSE. I'd like to have a bit more of a clean install and was wondering if anybody had any ideas. I was thinking maybe center console? The radio has to have switched power (I had it wired to the cigarette lighter) and a place for the coaxial cable to run to the antenna. The speaker isn't really an issue as an external speaker under the dash (or elsewhere) is always a possibility.

Pic of the radio installed in my old car...just above the shifter.

Most people will tell me that CB's are archaic devices that only truck drivers use, but I found it to be invaluable on long drives to and from college these past few years and on other long trips.

i think someone at saabtoberfest had one, im not sure where the box was, but i thought i saw the antenna stuck to the floor of the back seat. as for the box, maybe inside the glovebox?
I would put it in the glovebox if I had one. :D The antenna has to go on a flat, metal surface outside the car to get a good RF ground (that and the whip is 62" long).

edit***-whip located on the back of my old car in the pic

I have CB radio reception on my police scanner, it really is very helpful on long drives. you would never know I had it, the antenna looks like a standard sized cell phone antenna. It really increases my police detection ability :D

The floor idea LOOKS smart - but defeats the purpose of having an antenna - - best bet is to get a "cell phone" style antenna - and then tune the antenna to the right freq. so that it works with the CB - and you're all set! This is probably what I'll end up doing - running a dual antenna on my rear glass of a 9000 (kinda cop like) and get a stubby for a roof mount Radio antenna - make the car look real, questionable

Mount it to your glove box door. easy to replace.
