also, i didn't get the spacers just for looks, in reverse with the wheel cut all the way my tires rubbed, so i bought the spacers.

 

I'm a big fan of front spacers, so I'm totally with you....

Helps quell the understeer a bit...

 

Did you need longer bolts? I've often seen these at the local parts store and thought them seemed nifty.

 

longer bolts would probably be a good idea but the stock ones worked fine.

Every little bit helps when it comes to handling in these cars ,and wheel spacers work.

 

What size tires are you running that they were rubbing? I have huge tires on my 2000 so I've been considering these, this pretty much puts me over the edge.

Anyone know where I can get the longer bolts on the cheap?

 

Check out Prestige. You want the ones with the anti-corrosion coating.

Measure the stock bolts, add the thickness of the spacer, and get the closest size to that, or the next size up.

Stretched tires (at or less than the width of the rim) is what gives that silly ass VeeDub look

You'll be fine with 215s or 225s

 

my tires are 225/45/17 cooper zeons, i think cooper tires are a little wider than most for some reason.

i only had a minor rub going in reverse when the wheel was cut all the way.

How many threads were left on your bolt to thread in? That is a pretty thick spacer. Be sure to re-torque those a few times... Don't want your wheel to pass you up!

 

ah i didn't count threads, but i had at least a good centimeter of the bolt threaded into the hub

 

You need at least 8-10 threads inside to clamp....\

well it wasn't that bad when it happened to me lol, i was going about 15 mph.

 

Fwiw, I had 8mm spacers on an old 9000 for about 2 years and I had to use longer bolts. The spacers I had were also hubcentric.
