Now, we all know that drive through washes are evil things that love to destroy cars* so to avoid possible problems and shitty wash job, and have a good time, do it yourself withe these easy steps!

Supplies:
-Footjoy rain jacket
-ski mask
-Mechanix gloves
-Nitrite gloves
-your favorite pair of non-waterproof shoes
-Thin bluejeans
-And a pair of Oakley glasses

Step 1. Pick a cold day, but not freezing. I chose today. 45 and sunny. Bonus points if it's this windy!

(About 15mph making it feel much colder)

Step 2. put on your base gloves

Step 3. Squeeze a pair of nitrite gloves over your other gloves. Now, this is about as easy as trying to put a condom on King Kong while he's climbing up the Empire State Building, so be patient and don't rip them.

That's about as good as you can get it.

Step 4. Suit up

Step 5. Wash the car, making sure to hurry ans miss about 5 sections that you have to take more time to fix.

Step 6. Post a sarcastic thread on how stupid it was to freeze your ass off just to wash your car.:th_MySaab900Like::th_SmlyROFL:

I'm a big fan of the following method. Head to car wash. Bucket wash if time permits, put 2 bucks in and pressure wash the shit out of it, then soap er up.

Pack all your shit in the trunk (thats what she said? eh maybe)

Roll over to the touch free auto wash with a dryer 10 feet from the wash bay, throw in some coin for a rinse and dry.

boom, done.

Freeze ass off less.

If you live in Indiana step #7 is:

Find Ice Chisel, and blow dryer and spend the entire next day trying to figure out how to get in your freshly washed ice cube... Er.. I mean Car.

I just park the nice cars in the winter and don't wash the beaters till spring... or never.

Or, as the bipolar weather state, you enjoy the 60 degrees with your windows down. Yep. 60 today. I feel like an idiot. :th_SmlyROFL:

Here in Germany it's illegal to wash your car at home. Yep, illegal. It's also illegal to wash your engine at home. Taking it to a drive through wash is the way to go, or you pay am arm and a leg for a detailer to make your ride shine.

I have heard of some people doing minimal water washing in a closed garage so no one car see. Dirt car goes in, clean car comes out.

And into the storm drains. When I lived near Northern Virginia about five years ago, it was nearly impossible to find the you-wash, stall-style car wash. I never really looked into it, but I think they likely had some zoning against those style of car washes.
