Would anyone post pics of the stock turbo intake pathway as Im planning on getting a turbo and some lower compression pistons and assorted stuff from the junkyard.But I have no clue as to the intake tubing...So please anyone with pics.
Gearhead, the intake plumbing on a stock 900T16 is very simple. From the air filter, a black plastic pipe goes to the turbo's compressor housing. In this pipe, there are two nipples, one for the return line for the APC solenoid, and one for the PCV system. The pipe coming out of the compressor housing goes to the IC (behind left headlight), which has a third pipe into the throttle body.
You say you are going to the junkyard to get the turbo, but why not find a 900t donor car (at the yard) and get everything you need? Keep stock pistons, but put the stock Garrett T3 with the stock intercooler and run a modest boost setting. That was you could do away the APC, and with water injection and proper fueling, ten psi is attainable, I'd imagine.
