Typically universals cont look quite right on our cars. Did you try searching? I know some people have had good luck getting pods to work from specific cars that have similar moldings.
i havent seen any 3 gauge pods, only 2, im not a big fan of pillar pods, just not my thing thats why i havent probably seen any, it looks great on many saabs iv seen but id prefer the in dash gauge holder sas sells
I kinda wanna hack apart my dash and add 3 gauges right above the SID and then move the fasten seat belts light to right above those gauges. GTO/STI style.
But it would require a second dash assembly to modify and mold then find a way to ad the "grain" to make it look OEM.
I helped a friend make a custom one for his Mazda 6. I came up with the process and it ended up looking very smooth.
Step 1. Remove existing pillar and cover with cellophane such that the cellophane has very few wrinkles. This takes a while to get right.
Step 2. Break out the fiberglass and resin. I just did 2 layers on top of the current pillar. Just a straight up copy of it (except it was bigger due to being molded around the piece).
Step 3. We then took this and a universall 3 pod setup he had gotten off ebay before I convinced him this was the way to go first, and we took this and sanded and played with it till it had nice edges and fiberglassed it to the side of the new pillar we had made. With enough time and elbow grease we had a really decent looking piece.
Step 3. We painted it the awful peanut butter color the inside of his car is and rigged it so it stayed attached with some 3m tape (he really just wanted it on there quickly, I was ready to mold in some mounting tabs...)
It looks pretty darn nice and was a fun project. If you are just sitting around with your thumb up your ass all winter like I am, it could be a good project to undertake.
I have read that ford excursion gauge pods will fit pretty well, with a tiny bit of work. I imagine that you could get a triple to work too...
