Saab 93 tid same problems as many others, difficulty firing would eventually start hot after about 15-20 seconds replaced all items would always start cold or after having stood for an hour...chasing my tail for six months...garages all failed small fortune spent, however....after trying to start after a short journey eventually the battery ...new...gave up the ghost just by chance had stopped on a hill, so back to days of old and nothing to loose bump started down the slope engine fired immediately!!!!!!!...should anyone have this problem please please check the ground cable to the engine just clip on a starter cable from neg terminal to engine block and Eureka!!!! Fired up straight away....and has continued to do so..the car is 15 years old hence earth connections deteriorated...nothing to loose give it a try cost you nothing

Good for you. Im on a Porsche forum and anytime somebody raises a question why do my dials read funny or go wonky we all chime in with ‘check the F,ing grounds. Its one of the most common fault conditions on older cars.
