I just put new tires on this weekend and the TPMS sensor stems were so oxidized that I had to literally drill out my sensors :( I check my pressure every time I fuel up and I don't mind pressing clear on the SID, so I decided not to spend $320 for new ones....which I think is ridiculous btw.

I always put TPMS rebuild kits on when I get new tires, but the last set obviously did not work. Anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking it may just be from our unusually horrible winter last year and all the salt/brine spread.

The cores came out just fine, the threaded aluminum sleev that goes over them stem to attach it to the wheel was oxidized to the point that the head stripped off when I tried to disassemble it...that's why I had to drill out the sensor from the wheel.
