thats a ton of car for 14k. wow, was it tough getting the deal or are they all so inexpensive?
Thanks for the PM the other day :) It was very tough to get it for 14k. I went for a test drive around Boston and there were only 2 or 3 GTO's around. The one I drove was listed at 21k with more miles than this one. There aren't many of those cars around here and the best I could find was something between 15k and 18k with higher miles and 6/10 general condition. I kept looking and on one of the GTO forums this guy lists his car for 16k. He is very accurate so he listed all the flaws (micro nickles on the wheels, micro chips on the hood or that the car is after weight reduction - to me it is ridiculous because I think the car looks perfect). The very next day after his listing I was the first one to offer him something serious. He took the ad of and I basically had the deal in my hands.

Nice car Rafal, that is definately a big improvement over the LB. But what are you going to do about the pussy magnet?

IBretrofitofthepussymagnet
Honestly, if Viggen was ever equipped with a pussy magnet, the GTO has probably 5 times more of them settled across the car. It does attract :)

Really, really nice car. Like others have said, the amount of car you get for $14k is hard to beat. We have to meet up so I can check it out. Most of the modifications done by the PO, minus the splitter, look right on the car. I like the wheels alot.

Good luck with it and nice choice. Call me in a couple months when we get our first couple inches of snow for a quick ride with rear wheel drive haha.

I love GTO's. Understated with a ton of power. Its up in the running for my next car, the one thing holding me back is im kind of drawn to 4 door cars... Good luck with her thoguh! Can I hear the whine of a maggie in the future?

Gtos are pretty sick, and i would be one of those people giving you the thumbs up on the front spliter

the Gto needs a supercharger though

I like the gto's. gotta love the lsx. but i must say that splitter sticks way to far out, and the canards are incredibly ricey. its your car and as long as your happy thats all that matters.

no they don't
holden builds excitement.
GM just rebadges it as a pontiac.
Ditto. Thank you! I have to show the door emblem: MFD BY HOLDEN to everybody who says this car is 100% American.

Don't hesitate. This car is awesome. About the 4 doors - this car has two of them but even if I put the seat all way to the back, THERE IS STILL a lot of space in the back. Incredible. Too bad I have sparco seats and they don't tilt. It's kind of a pain to get to the back (good excuse for not giving a ride to others :D )

Thanks. It does need a supercharger but I'm not willing to spend anything more on performance upgrades in this car nor to play with it. You can always buy a supercharged GTO for like 17-20k though. There is one for sale locally but has a shitty color combo and it's 2004.

The splitter is way too far, I agree. I saw some pics and this one is the furthest I've ever seen. And yeah, those small wings are not my thing. I'm gonna keep them on though, because the holes after screws would destroy the look of it more than it is destroyed now. My hunt for a Monaro bumper has started so it's just a matter of time :)

Congrats man. Looks nice.

Welcome to the world of Aussie cars :D

Amusing the response you get, as Holden are everywhere here so pretty much go unnoticed.

This maybe of interest, the Holden V8 forums http://www.ls1.com.au/

I'm waiting for the activation e-mail to come. I'm going to post a WTB thread for the bumper :)

Aren't there any junk yards around you? :> I wonder how much would shipping take. Probably around $500 or so?

how much does a front bumper normally run?

Used Pontiac GTO front bumper - around $300 in a good day.
Used Monaro VZ front bumper - from $50 to $400 in Australia. I can get it from Cali from $1300 shipped. Little too much for me now.

lol I live in the biggest city in Australia, there are probably 100 different junk yards around with Holden bits.

I found this
http://melbourne.gumtree.com.au/c-C...orbikes-Parts-parts-accessories-Vz-monaro-front-bumper-cover-W0QQAdIdZ141477951

sab is closer than me to this one.

However that's just the cover I'm guessing this is what you need:
- Front (bumper) Bar Facia,
- Lower intake Grille
- 4 clips to secure lower intake grille to the front bar
- All 3 parts that make up the Holden Upper Grille
- 2 screws and 1 clip which hold the Holden Grille to the front bar
- Fog/Park lamp surrounds
- Fog/Park Lamp assembly
- 6 screws hold fog lamps in place.
- Bumper Foam

They list it on ebay for $50 everytime. I think it's there right now. I would take this in a heartbeat. All those minor parts would be collected within some time.
I even got a reply from this guy. They could supply me everything I need. The most important: "Top Grille is $40, bottom Grille $45, Foglights $220 each all new." I would pass on fog lights, since I could probably get them somewhere cheaper but if the shipping would come out to be less than $500, then I won't bother and get everything together.

Beautiful new acquisition. I like the wheels and the front splitter actually. Viggen's are nice cars, but GTO's are great(which they should be at twice the price tag). Viggen wins looks wise for me, but overall, the GTO is a great choice. Good luck.
