The Ferrari 458 Italia.

I went to Cars & Coffee with christian900se this morning and saw a 458 in person for the first time.

Holy.

Crap.

Beautiful does not even begin to describe. Aesthetically, Ferraris haven't done much for me in a while. But damn, that car is hot hot hot. I didn't get a rear 1/4 shot but that part of the car is perfection.

Perfection. That car is awesome. That thing must have 16" brake rotors, lol.
the return of beautiful ferraris. the f40 was the last truly beautiful masterpiece.
or the 308, depending on who you ask.
the 456, 550, 575, 360, 430, 599, f50 and 612 all are varying degrees of generic and uninspired. being low and wide can make any car look cool. but not beautiful.

the enzo is a masterpiece and stands apart.
I personally think that the most beautiful Ferrari of the past 20 years was the F355 GTS/Berlinetta. Small displacement V8 + gorgeous body = a car I lust for.

I think you might be the first person to find the Enzo beautiful. I get a kick out of seeing it(it happens almpst weekly lately), as you said, low-wide and looks like a race car is cool. But it is not a pretty car-at all. Same for the SLR. Not a looker.
F-40 is my favorite, prettiest might be an early car like the GTO or one of the SWB Spyders.

didnt say it was beautiful.

its a three-dimensional sculpture at its best. you cant stop staring at it. its magnetically appealing.
f355 is hotness. best car i ever drove, i think.
its the f348 perfected. and i do love it. but its a chunky wedge. very truncated. and aging poorly imho.

i was always a f360 hater, but recently ive started to come around. its very pretty and well proportioned, and the lines are very elegant. where it fails miserably is in the front and rear ends which are just nasty.
I'm surprised no one is talking about the California.
My favorite

I'd kill to have this car... (not really)
The 458 is the first Ferrari since the 308GTS to get me excited JUST from looking at it. This is why:

Three tailpipes just gets me. I don't know why, but I love it.

The front also looks like it was given serious thought and care, too:

California, Hardtop tourer = fantastic

Christian, Jameson I agree wholeheartedly with the 355GTS/F40 comments

I think the 599GTO could be phenomenal but I haven't seen one in person so I'm not totally sure. I love the sound of it though.

Now that we figured out the best model for each one of us, we only have to come up with a heist plan so we can buy one! A Las Vegas casino? An armored truck? Kidnapping a businessman? C'mon, give me some ideas! (not really)
I believe the 355GTB is the best overall looking car ever created, in addition to it being the best overall car in general.
However the 288GTO and F430 Scuderia are also flawless looking.

Always have had a soft spot for the 288 GTO. Saw one once about a year or two ago. Pure hotness.

Trade in one of the classics and pick one up then.* :)
Just found this. Maybe I should go for it? Even trade perhaps...?
