Lately ive notics that my temp gauge always reads about 4 tenth of the way up the scale. It hardly ever goes half way unless the car is idle or accellerating up a hill. Is this normal. It does even drop below 4 tenths after warm up either. I know the air temps are getting cold now that fall is here but shouldn't it read half way just about all the time. I do have a cold air intake and all but i don think that's the reason. Any thoughts

Hard to say for sure - I dislike "idiot" gages that car-makers love to use unmarked gages - leaves the owner guessing.
Check out the old gages in a real Saab, the 96/95...

Anyway, I suspect that your thermostat may be headed south.
In my experience, a t-stat is good for 3 to 5 years - then it is a crapshoot...
