go to summit or check with GS. Not to offend but do you have a certain affection for coffee cans? it seems that the magnaflow you found is a coffee can as well. Granted not the carbon fiber that the other one has or the massive 4" outlet but still very coffee can ish. i say get a good Saab Sport and leave the coffee to the Civics and ricers.

Okay ,found this (magnaflow) dirt cheap:

only problem ,not gonna fit ,both inlet and outlet are in center (or maybe i'm wrong?)

see photo (found on google)

solution 2 - thrush turbo muffler for free ,my friend just upgraded his exhaust.
looks like is going to fit perfectly but dont know if will flow much better than stock.(900set)

That should be able to fit, i'd measure your distance underneath before you run out of space (i'm trying to describe this well lol) you wouldn't want to have to mount it on an angle to clear your axle/wheel well.

I don't think the Magnaflow looks ricey at all....according to the link specs it's 3" in and 3" out (w/ Twins it would be not bad.) I think that could look really hot if it was setup well.

The Carbon exhaust, now that's rice.

The SaabSport is very similar to the Magnaflow in that it's a round can, but I think it's 6" can, 2.5" core, 2.5 in/out, center-center.

i suppose i may not have looked at the full look of the magnaflow. i personally like the Oval outlets. That is what i have on the saabsport. yeah the magnaflow is very similar just a little bigger. scratch the previous comment. however the 4" pipe is so rice it needs chopsticks...

the whole point of this is to save money for ecu ,i dont think that for stage 3 (ordering soon) bigger exhaust is needed.Stock with hi flow muffler will do the job or at least thats my opinion.
what do you think?
should i drop $400+ for 2.5" catback or save money and spend <$100 on hi-flow muffler

anything worth doing is worth doing right. spend the $400+ on the catback and then save for the ecu. if you have all the other components first the ecu will be that much better. Also remove the resonator and depending upon year of car and emissions where yo are hollow out or remove the cat.

How much would he have with a full 3"?

We'll never know... :)

also the saab sport isn't 3" is it? i have that and am certain mine isn't 3". if you just want to do the ecu then go for it, but honestly and i think a lot of people will agree with me here.. if you want to do it, do it once, and do it right from the start. Do the Exhaust as it will benefits a lot. hell when i put on mine and the GS intake i noticed instant difference on acceleration etc. it helps a lot. Not big numbers but a noticeable difference. Add the ECU after all the other parts and damn you will have huge numbers.

SaabSport is 2 and 3/8" (approximately 2.5") it gets it's power boost from the center resonator delete and the fact that it flows very well.

If your goal is in the 300HP range, any high flowing 2.5" system will do it for you (including the SaabSport, or a custom 2.5" system with a good flowing muffler like a Supertrapp, glasspack, etc)

Why spend monies on ECU's? The days of paying big bucks for T5 tuning are over thanks to ECUproject.

Spend the money on hardware. Software can be mod'd for chump change now (i.e. $20-30 and some time).

Just to let you know, you dont have to drop 400 dollars. The cheap-but-works-well route is to get a muffler (3" magnaflow for about $70 for me) and then take it to a local exhaust shop and get a cat back welded up for about $100.

The one issue, mine is now fully welded and now that im putting on a dp, im gonna have to pay more now.
