Hey guys, here is the first stock hood from the new mold. It had a few problems so I decided to cut some holes in it to test a vent idea I was thinking of. What do you guys think of these vents?

that's it.... :D ....that's the hood me and blaque_out was trying to describe on your other style..., just like the ones used on the racing Vette.

using that look and something to open and close at the vent would be perfect...

Man, you work fast..., will you be teaching any classes on this stuff?

You might have an idea there. There is probably more money in teaching people how to make carbon fiber pieces than actually making it myself. I could set up a web site that charges a member ship fee for details on how to do my specific process. I will have to think about that.

However, just to let my good friends on the SaabLink know, I did recently establish a business relationship with a volume Chinese mfg. So, more abundant Saab CF goodies are in the future (end of next year).

dare I ask what your "Job" is that you do which funds all this work?? I mean - you are really producing some amazing parts here - but I know the time it takes to do it and the money it cost to get the materials - how do you do it?? Who'd you kill? 8)

Kevin,

Why not a huge reversed NACA duct? Pointed end toward the firewall, and large end over the turbo....

The flow of air over the hood would pull hot air out out of the engine compartment in the same way a properly oriented NACA duct forces air into a duct without the drag of a scoop. You'd be cooler and more aerodynamic....

Yep those vents are great. to be honest I like them more than the EVO style raised version. I think you should shape them into to NACA ducts. Many years ago I had a twin 40 webber powered escort and I fitted to midi sized NACA duts that butted upto the ITG filters on the carbs. Wicked induction roar and the looks at lights when the carbs were sucking... :p

But still those two vents are very nice. If you don't want that bonnet i'll chuck you some cash for it. Will they stand up to tranatlantic shipping???
