nice pics, the mainline turnpike tunnel sure looks to be in a lot better condition then the N-bound NE-extension tunnels. The new shock bushings + Bilstines make the car feel a lot less like a fast shopping cart :lol: Could still use an alignment though.

That's old news, been brought up about 5x in the past few months.

I sit granny style in the Vig. In the Max, or 9-2x I sit about 3" further back. I like to have my whole foot be able to press the clutch to the floor in complete comfort and with the Vig seats propping my legs up it means being close.

Even people shorter than me don't sit that close. I like to feel more on top of the car and hood for better site lines. I think its a control thing

Funny, me and 5 other folks were doing this, too, but 1) with mostly a Ryder (altho we did have a U-Haul for an hour), B) just on Wednesday, and III) actually @ the Troy-Hilton and for a much shorter shortfall in distance (30 ft or <1ft, depending in which direction you are measuring)

From what I recall--

People are shooting off the potato gun (mostly granite_embedded, as nearly nobody else was sober enough, skilled enough, or foolish enough). Moonracer's son is eating a raw potato and drinking a beer. Potatoes get shot in the general direction of the highway. Biodiesel is added to the cannon, and shortly thereafter a white SUV tears through the parking lot. Repeatedly. Chucker gets lit off, and short guy in white suit throws SUV in reverse, steps out and yells, 'YOU CAN'T DO THAT HERE! GUESTS ARE SLEEPING!'

I may have this exchange caught on video.

OMG...an all-white get-up...shoes, shirt, everything? Curly black hair?

If so, that was White Lightning! Syed, the security guard from inside. The night folks from the Hilton were calling him that. Was going on a cruise or something right after he got off in the AM or something.

He told me everything was fine overnight...you musta paid him off well...

David Prantl. He lives in Atlanta, and he's pretty involved on "Turbo!", although his wife recently had a baby so he's been a bit busy lately. Very smart and very knowledgeable about Saabs, especially 9000s. I'd guess he participates on saabn*t, but I don't look on there very often. If you want his e-mail address, PM me.

Yeah, as one of the Turbisti, I call him Encyclopedia Prantl. He's the go-to guy for 9000 stuff and he's getting real good at the NG stuff.

He's also the king of the robust, low-cost fix.

Very good guy, highly recommended as an information source.

We've worked some auto shows where SAAB brings in the good looking product specialists. They are usually know their stuff quite well.

I remember the good looking blond girl from the Proving grounds scene. Her fam was also from upstate, and she seemed pretty good with the cars. They did bring a Saab specific specialist, as they worked for an outside company.
