A long-lingering big toenail injury was resolved yesterday.

When I started the exercise program last year, I was running in older shoes. Size 12. I bruised the toe nail, and it seemed a bunch of blood welled up under the nail. It dried and it looked awful but it never really hurt.

I bought new shoes, size 13, to run in and they work great.

Fast forward 12 months. It turns out there were two toe nails growing, one underneath the dried blood, and one on top. The one on top finally gave up the ghost, and I was able to get it off with some toe nail clippers yesterday.

The obligatory pic:

I had that happen to me last spring. I punted a kids toy in the back yard, smashed my big toe, and had the whole new nail growing over / pushing out the old nail thing too. The old nail hung tight for a while, I guess until the new nail grew in somewhat to protect the nail bed, then it came loose and I ended up yanking it..

BTW, you have some ugly ass feet.

i don't have any pics but i once had a rather large wart on my right knee. I had on several occasions had it "frozen" by the doctor, but it kept coming back.

so one night i'm reading, picking at it and i decide i'm finally sick of it. I grab my trust leatherman pliers grab the whole thing, squeeze and "roll" the pliers. It ripped the whole thing clean out, you could even see the "roots".

took almost an hour to stop the bleeding and it has never come back since.

also i skipped the disinfecting part.

i once noticed a small wart right under my nose, of course i couldnt leave the house with it there and so visible so i heated some scissors (disinfect them) and i held my breath and snip, hurt like a bitch but was well worth it, there thats my self surgery story

My high school health teacher got a piece of grass stuck in his leg while mowing the lawn. It got infected and swelled up to the size of a baseball. He went to the doctor and they opened it up, and scooped out what was described as cottage cheese. I've never looked at cottage cheese the same.

I used to go at my feet with a knife every so often to go at this one wart I have on my heel and to remove calluses.

Then I bought one of these for my mom:

Got one look at the "cheese grater" pumice alternative and picked one up for myself. This thing kicks ass, I just grind the imperfections out of my feet every so often.

I'm considering using this for self tattoo removal.

I tried something similar to these on my feet. I learned my calluses are there for a reason, my feet hurt a few days latter as they formed the new callus due to my work boots. now I leave them alone, aside from softening the edges.
