Recently, I posted about my 89T being stolen in Seattle. I am still waiting for it to turn up, but, while trying to see about more information on car theft in Seattle, discovered that 26 c900s have been stolen so far this year -- that's about one theft every ten days. (I found this info from SPD tweets re: stolen cars.)

I'm not trying to make anyone paranoid, but it's clear to me that there are people in Seattle who know how to steal these cars, and I'd hate to see others fall victim. I don't know how best to keep a potential thief from choosing your car, but I can tell you that I won't be driving a c900 in Seattle without at least a kill switch ever again.

wow that is super fucking gay (in the south park harley davidson rider episode way not the other one) I hate to say it but if and when you wire up your kill switch dont post about it here. Since this is a free forum you never know who could be lurking.

c900's are easy to jump and steal if you can get the hood open. Alot of c900 owner's i know dont even bother to lock there doors when they park there car.

I owned my DD 92 900 S for 3 years. I can count how many times I have locked the door and I have remote keyless entry added.

How difficult is it to salvage a car in WA? Here in NY you generally need the title. If things are lax over there at a particular yard or two, they could all be at the same yard. Brought there by some meth addict who knows how easy it is to boost these cars. 10 cars is a lot of cars to steal for parts.

Have you tried calling any of the salvage yards to see if they have any c900s? If any have more than three, they'd be suspect of accepting stolen cars in my mind. Not too many yards even have one.

I know Seattle is big, but that definately sounds sketchy .. is there a Swedish mafia in town? :)

Hope it gets recovered soon like the one I sent ya.

Ive had my c900 stolen and wrecked/recovered in a ditch 20 miles away back in 2002. They pried up under the ignition and put a couple wires together. Found it the next day when i got a call about a green up day crew finding my soccer ball in the abandoned car and called me. It still had power when I arrived but had to get it towed out.
