hahaha... a little guy on a race bike with dual 4 piston calipers is one thing. a really big, rather overweight guy on a scooter. lol!

That is schweet! Only ONE thing comes to mind... Does it do burn outs?
it might, with both feet on the ground, holding front brake (but only if the brakes are separate, if they are integrated, no way) and pushing the bars forward/down, you might.

you can actually get the thing to wheelie too. just get your weight far enough back and pull up on the bars if you have to.

i am looking into something like that as well. with a 12 mile drive to work in stop and go traffic you really can't turndown 50+ MPG. Even the Tally when i baby her doesn't do nearly that good.

no way in hell that thing can go 55
just to warn you, anytime i see one of those, i get the urge to ram it. i imagine i'm not the only one. you also need to gain 200lbs to be a proper scooter rider.
im not going to say that i might get the urge to ride up alongside and give the kid in flip flops, shorts, a t-shirt and bicycle helmet a good kick in the side.

50mpg isnt bad but i think you will be hard pressed to get that up to 40. i cant imagine the stability issues you could end up with on wheels of that size.

heh, my friend has a 1986 Honda scooter, I think its a 50cc, we could only do a burnout when I held up the back of the bike, we were in a park and we left when we saw an Impala pull in (it was a legal scooter, and it had no plates, nor did me or my friend have a motorcycle license)

And I did say to my friend how I could fit his scooter in my hatch.

The PO told me today that he has had it up to 50.

Yeah, not gonna try for that.

Sounds horrifying.

Do you know of any decent scooter forums?

I joined urbanscootin.com and elite50, but they are dead as hell.

yeah they're all dead, and when someone does post, they're 14 and have nothing to contribute. My reccomendation is new tires, you can get some fairly aggressive ones for that size, pirellis and such are good, i got a set for mine, and it made a huge difference in the stability of the machine. The big issue with going 40+ is gonna be the brakes, but yours might have better ones than mine. Other than that, slap a new belt on it, and it should do at least 40mph i would think.

Phooey. Kinda what I thought. I have a random start problem that I was hoping someone would know about. I think it's a bad relay, or switch...

I have found some tires too. It's funny...all the companies I deal with as far as bike tires make scooter tires too. :D

Not as many whitewall options though...although that would look pretty sweet with the "ratrod" look I'm going for.

No glasspack either. These engines need some back pressure at low RPMs. otherwise they are slow as hell.

one funny thing with these scooters is you have to pull on the brake to make the electric starter work, so thats something to make sure of. I'd reccomend pulling the carb and making sure its nice and clean, and checking the condition of the gas tank as well. If its been sitting the carb could be dirty, causeing it to run crummy. They also typically have an electric choke mechanism that gets crapped up and doesnt work right, not sure if yours has that setup though.
