This gem of a post led me to think we were dealing with a true scholar. At least he found the car. Still seems pretty sketchy.

I'll try to keep my eyes open....There are a lot of them around here.

I did happen to see another LB viggen today, but it didnt have a color matched grill.

that looks like the viggen that was for sale in RI a few months ago ... is it?

honestly i dont see how somebody took the car without either the keys being in it, having the spare set or simply towing the car away.

it will be funny if it comes out car got towed.

i once parked my viggen on cambridge street, right next to parkometer, 5 minutes later car is gone. i almost got a heart attack and was certainly sure it was stolen. later I saw the towing truck towing another car that was parked behind me. guy told me there was no parking from 3 to 6, and i happened to be there at 5:55pm...

Sorry, I'll cross my legs.

When I lived in the city I thought my car had been stolen several times and it turned out yep, towed. It'd be nice if I'd just been given tickets instead, but whatever works. These cars are hard to steal, and hardly ever stolen because of that-- but also because they're niche cars with shitty resale value. Keep checking the tow companies. It once took me two days to track down our Altima when it was towed out of our parking lot for no apparent reason.

Where was it parked? When do you think this happened, and how long was it before you noticed it was gone? I would assume you already called the police. Was the key stolen, or are you still in possession of both keys? If the person who stole the car did not have the keys, the car was almost certainly towed, as saabs with the chip in the key are very difficult to drive away in any short amount of time without the key.

First step would obviously be to report this to the police. I'd go so far as to say they will probably find the thing quickly as you have good pictures, have highly specialized and easily identifiable engine components specific to your car, and it is a relatively conspicuous vehicle.

Although it would suck big time if your car is really gone, it is highly coincidental that someone would steal the car right after you posted here and people started asking questions about it (which you still haven't answered). Maybe someone here took it so they could independently verify your 'under the hood' setup?

Anyway, good luck figuring out if anything happened.

Did you park it out on the street?

Lots of citys have parking bans in effect and would tow you if you are parked on a busy street.
