The new rules and regulations are designed to reduce the costs of operating a WRC team. Plus if they share development costs with Mini(BMW) they'll spend less.Thats awesome but how feasible is it for saab to compete? Subaru pulled out because of financial issues and they have been competing for as long as the competition has been around. Hopefully things work out but i just don't see saab being able afford something like this. I was a die hard wrc fan but this current season has really put me off. No real competition for Loeb or Citroen so things are getting pretty boring. Hopefully with mini and saab coming in to the fold, things will liven up a bit.
That. In any way, it'll be awesome! The new rules and regulations are designed to reduce the costs of operating a WRC team
That is true, i didn't think of that. I guess a saab and or mini rally car will be able to compete with the Fiesta and DS3. I would love to see Subaru get back in to the scheme of things. I think I'm just tired of seeing ford and citroen. What ever happens, having more manufacturers will make the sport better. The new rules and regulations are designed to reduce the costs of operating a WRC team. Check your facts there. Subaru joined the WRC in 1989, before their wins in the mid 90s'Subaru was pretty much just another Japanese brand with somewhat boring cars.they have been competing for as long as the competition has been around.
LOL, i was waiting for someone to call me out on that. After i posted i read it and realized what i said was wrong but i was too lazy to change it. You are 100% right, I guess what i really meant to say was, when you think rally you think Subaru. If a company like that was having trouble affording a rally program how would saab do any better?Check your facts there. The WRC started in 1973, replacing the International Championship of Manufacturers (ICM) and the European Rally Championship. SAAB was one of the winningest brands on the ICM.
yeah but that was with Russian mafia money. have you seen the SUV they are coming out with? are they serious? saab is in the real world.i dont know... victor mueller went formula 1 racing before:
-promoting his product
-designing, testing, promoting, selling his next project
-reaching break-even
-turning a profit
etc etc
