be carefl with the antennae turn on wire..it took me a few tries to get the power right.

 

Definitely check everything multiple times. Hardwiring a hu into a 9000 sucks...been there, done that. :?

Ok, I have the live wire, remote wire and ground (-) hooked up - I also thought I hooked up the speakers, but I'm not getting any sound. I tried a small test speaker on each of the pairs and it works on all four... any ideas?

 

You have to wire up the speakers directly. 9000s have an amp that powers the speakers but it's kind of a PITA to work with that. In my 9k I just ran new wires to each speaker from the HU's built-in amp.

 

no you dont have to wire them directly. i did it twice without doing that. i just dont remember exactly what i connected.

 

I checked for sure, several times - that wiring in that car is bogus. I made sure I had everything lined up and it just doesn't work. I think we're going to need to wire everything direct.

 

if you can wait a week i can look at the harness i left in my junker.

 

Are all of the leads connected to the speakers themselves? Polarity right?

It could really be anything, but from what you told me earlier it almost sounds like there is wiring in that car that shouldn't even be there.

 

Checked colors / polarities... nothing works. Going to re-wire everything next week.
