I will admit the M group produces a very nice car and when you break the back end loose in this car you better hope you have some fast reflexes. I wound it up to about 80 getting on the highway, 50-60 though some banking on/exit ramps and then had it sideways in a left hand turn at a light. and the brakes are endless, i thought my brakes in the viggen were decent with the stainless lines and hawk pads. no, they feel like a bad joke now.

my next fun car is going to have to be RWD. hands down. thats it, i just wanted to share that i thrashed on this car for a good 20 min and couldn't stop smiling.

The shop behind us is a one man operation that fixes the track cars of the rich. He currently has one of those hardtop M roadsters up on jacks that is fully track prepped. I should have taken a picture today bu didn't. AP 6 pot pistons up front, fully caged, one racing seat, gutted, etc............

I couldnt agree with you more. I drove around the ICS performance shop car (twin turbo S52 M Coupe) and it was scary. The coupes are much nicer than the convertibles in my opinion, but this thing blew the 285 width tires off in 4th (700+whp) and was very twitchy especially over rough pavement and sweeping curves.

I would have thought getting back into your Viggen will make you realize that the Saab is the ultimate driving machine!

I hear all Z3s are slower than Miatas!

I kid. Those are great cars, especially the M variant, and the coupes. Not a practical car by any means, but a whole lot of fun. Those 6 cyl motors stuffed in a package that doesn't weigh 4500lbs is good stuff.

that car is my third favorite BMW. 1st is the old school (80s) 3 series coupe. 2nd is the M Coupe (the Z3 Hatchback M version) and 3rd is that car...

very nice

thanks for sharing

There's a reason why I have two BMWs in my garage... I love my 9-3, but RWD is just so much better/more fun than FWD. I am jealous you got to drive that, I really wanted to get one but didn't want it as my only car. That red interior is so obnoxious, I love it :D

all of this RWD talk is bringing back memories of when i had my 87' RX-7. Turbo 2 and LSD from the factory made it a blast to drive!
i would love to try out one of those M version M3's. small cars with RWD are fantastic in my opinion.

Those Z3's are one of my least favorite BMW's, I just do not like the looks of them. However like all BMW's & especially the M versions, they have excellent chassis's & with that engine they are quite quick! The 240hp version not-so-much :)

I do agree my next vehicle will be RWD & also under 24,000 lbs unlike my last purchase.

I saw a BMW Z8 the other day.

Looked really weird, I had almost no clue what it was when I first saw it. Weird little thing.

I would agree looks wise, but for the price, the power is underwhelming.... they still pull in the 80's for a nice example last time i looked.

Someone needs to tell the owner of that Z8 his headlights look like a Japanese eco-box plastic skinned joke!

As for styling the Z8 looks like the squat version of the egg-like Buick Regal Coupe; which looks like a suppository. So that makes the Z8 a convertible suppository. FAIL.

As for BMW's has handlers it's got many things over Saab's handling. The biggest are of course that they are rear wheel drive and most of the time all independent.

Oh hi, just diggin up some old threads!

I was reminded, that THIS thread got me rolling on the idea of ditching the Viggen for an M car. Seeing/reading about the M Roady made me jealous.

The brakes are awesome, and the handling is even better with H&R/BIL/strut tower brace combo as well as 265's out back. The stock exhaust is a bit tame, I will have to get audio some time of the Supersprint.

So thanks Craig for the inspiration :)
